Given the impression I've gotten from Japanese talent agencies/music companies/non-video-game entertainment conglomerates that weren't born from becoming popular on the internet, it totally tracks that the talent agency is blocking a native PC release. If you thought Nintendo was bad at the internet, where do you think that attitude comes from!

I hope this gets sorted out somehow.

With the setting being Hong Kong, I'm suddenly struck with the thought of this game being somewhat adjacent to 1980s/Millenial nostalgia. This traces back to at least one person's time watching imported Hong Kong action movies when they were a kid.

As someone who has vacationed to the HK SAR and adored Sleeping Dogs, it warms my heart to see this game's Hong Kong setting. However, it is complicated by the (personally) overbearing fact of the city's recent protests from Occupy Central to the opposition against the then-upcoming extradition law (which I believed passed, iirc). I'm sure my distant relatives are okay, or at least I would have heard if they got messed up.

Yeah, I have nothing much to add other than that this game's setting reveal has be very ambivalent. Given my long time in Test Drive Unlimited 2's Ibiza and Oahu, I expect Solar Crown's Hong Kong proceedings to be some degree of vapid. As goofy and/or cringe Forza Horizon 4 is, I appreciated its liveliness.

I'm just waiting for my Squadron 42 game. I'm already bought in. Guess I'll just hang out and sit in my space BMW while I wait.

That circa-2015 Tegra X1 technology is going the long way around to the sunset, chuggin' and wheezin'!

I have a pretty nice PC so I am definitely one of those framerate-counters. And I do notice the ways the Switch looks to be hitting its redline in Breath of the Wild or Monster Hunter Rise. And I would have been a fan that would've lined up/pre-ordered an upgrade to the System-on-a-Chip.

But...

I think it's kind of nice for me to save the money and for Nintendo to avoid the mistakes it made with the New 3DS line.

Maybe it's because of the circles I hang around and the ones I don't, but I've always had the impression that Fire Emblem Fates slowly and surely became a black mark on the modern iterations of Fire Emblem. So much that Shadows of Valentia was praised for being "old-school" and getting rid of the weird cruft that Fates overstuffed itself with.

Oh as for the topic, umm... I guess this might turn out to be a weak one:

The Musou/Warriors franchise and concept provide a repetitive but comforting video game that is a worthy derivative or evolution of the beat'em-ups and belt-scrolling action games of old.

The March 31st 2021 date lines up nicely with the end of their fiscal year. Capitalism, ho!

This is nitpicky on my part: I do wonder those who are baffled by the March 31st execution of Mario and Marth date just don't want to give a single thought that this deadline is a completely cynical money-grab by Nintendo Co. Ltd. to juice their quarterly numbers. The obfuscation of whether or not these limited-releases will ever be rereleased in the future being a point rather than an oversight.

It's sad, ultimately. As much as I try to ignore it, Nintendo frequently reminds me that it is a ruthless and idiosyncratic toys and playing cards company based in Kyoto.

It is I, the man that is giddy with excitement to see Xenoblade Chronicles 2's Pyra and Mythra getting in to Smash Ultimate. While the Xenoblade series is a arguably a series of diminishing returns, I still enjoyed Xenoblade 2 enough to be happy to see the Aegis Blade pair get an invite in to Nintendo's bruhaha.

The Famicom Detective Club remakes coming over is really cool. I've been curious about those games ever since a trophy of the main character was in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

This Direct was a big 50-minute shotgun blast from a shell marked, "mixed bag". I got my 2-5 things that got to me, but I get how this show was a big and long miss.

Heh, maybe this is an argument that 2020's Direct slate of smaller and (slightly) more numerous Direct Minis, Partner Showcases, and singular-focused Directs might be better for the internet's health. I've read a comment that this big 50 minute show could've stood to be separated to a Direct Mini and a Partner Showcase.
