I just had to make some updates to a new page on the site for inFAMOUS 2, which technically hasn't even been announced yet. 

Yeah Mass Effect 3 is also full of related pages that werent confirmed or announced.

Just checked Dragon Age 2, also has a lot of unconfirmed related pages, maybe games that werent officialy announced shouldnt have editable pages.

  @Mrskidders: It's hardly a case of providing links and such when to comes to cases like this; people are assuming that the game will include certain elements when, in fact, there's no official information on the game whatsoever, let alone an official announcement.
 
If you somehow came across legit info before anyone else, which I doubt would happen in the first place, you'd probably be best off making a post in the game's forum linking to that piece of info, which would help to avoid this type of incident.

Yeah, there are definitely cases where the sequel differs from the predecessor. If this treatment were to be applied to the next Deus Ex for example, I'm sure it would be massively incorrect. Isn't Red Dead Redemption also pretty different from Revolver? For all we know you'll get fire powers in Infamous 2 or something. Until we know stuff like this, we shouldn't make those assumptions. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow associated with whip and Belmont, sure. Dracula, however, has not been confirmed yet, as far as I know.

Dude, I gave up on trying to modify the Guitar Hero 6 page.  Some dude's squatting on it.  He has poor grammar, no sense of formatting, and doesn't understand the concept of speculation.  Oh, and I got all of 10 points for the effort.

The problem seems to be making pages for games that are a forgone conclusion, sure, but have absolutely no info out on them. If you don't know a single thing about an upcoming game, it doesn't really need a page at all. Wait for a screenshot at least.

Weirdly enough, I just had to remove ModNation Racers from the LittleBigPlanet franchise list. People think it's easier to get away with adding concepts and games that aren't related.

I had to delete stuff exactly like that before from the Half-Life 2: Episode Three page.  I mean, seriously! We know absolutely nothing about that game yet.

I can't count the number of times I've assumed the Picard Facepalm Position at the sight of this very thing.

I don't see how the site can have things two completely contradictory ways without seeing the problem.  The idea of a gaming wiki was good, but the "reward" bullshit has sodomized any potential for it to be a legitimate resource.  Because people strive for meaningless crap (points, XP, etc.), the site is cluttered to all hell with every permutation of every detail.  I'd be willing to bet that a good 50% or more of the wiki is useless bullshit that adds nothing and just devalues the potential of the site.  One has to sift through so much garbage to find useful or interesting information.  It'd be nice to have a wiki worth browsing, but any attempt will yield far more chaff than worth. 
 
If you're going to hand out kudos for simply editing, then you can't realistically expect quality in the results.

Good call. There are so many game pages that need the attention, games you can actually PLAY right now.

Some of those are no brainers about being in the second game, but matchmaking? really? The game hasn't even been announced yet.
 
Damn people trying to increase their e-penis size! Why not go fix up an out of date page or something that hasn't been filled out yet.

The "similar games"  list on various pages are also filled with games, that are either speculated or doesn't make any sense at all, also on existing pages. People should watch out for these as well. Example: Battlefield 2142 was attached to Unreal Tournament 2003, other than "future" and "weapons", these games have nothing in common in terms of environment, style, universe, or gameplay.

Worst case scenario is that they never bother to come back and clean it up after the game actually comes out. Just adding stuff is unforunately more fun than going back for clean up duty.

listen dude i ant ""squatting" on the gh: wor wiki  im just posting info on that wiki that is intresting is it aginst the site to added rumors to a wiki which look as though the yare going to be true what I mean is the rumored setlist for GH:WOR has all the confermed songs in the list do it look as thoughthe rumoed list will be true.as for your cleaning up that perticular wiki he got rid of the screenshots why did he need to do that?. i do know what speculation is.
