I'm a lurker so I rarely rarely post but I do read a good amount of the threads. It warms my heart to know multiple people realize this is yet again Fourthline, the arrogant and incoherent gift that keeps on giving.
Definitely a shameless plug but my friends and I have a podcast called Multimedia Failure where we watch and rank every video game movie ever made. The idea was for sure inspired by Ranking of Fighters. We are by no means professional film critics but we have fun talking about these truly awful movies. Really opens your eyes to how bad film can be.
Not a lot of hip hop recommendations so far so I figured I’d focus on those.
1. Kids See Ghosts - Best project by either Kanye or Cudi in damn near a decade. I don’t think a better album will be released this year.
2. TA13OO - Denzel Curry really comes into his own on this one. Wonderful melody mixed with head banging aggression. The best part is it still feels like he can do better.
3. Veteran - Jpegmafia is on the cutting edge with this glitch rap gem. His flows are just as awesome and erratic as the multitude of samples and beats.
4. DAYTONA - Pusha over some great Kanye production. They just feel right together.
5. Testing - A$AP Rocky continues to show why he is a master at using beats and flow to create a true vibe album. Not as good as At Long Last A$AP but still worth checking out.
I did stop at the final boss of Rogue Galaxy because of how frustrating it was. Especially compared to everything else in the game. The story had also really gone downhill by that point so a lot of my motivation was completely gone.
This year alone has so many fantastic options in such a wide variety of genres. If you can't find something for you either aren't looking in the right places, taking chances outside of your comfort zones, or just plain not trying.
And microtransactions literally only affect you if you let them. They are completely optional and there are incredibly few instances of them having a large negative impact on a games experience.
I came in later than some but Metal Gear Scanlon was what got me to take the plunge. Haven't looked back since. P4 Endurance Run is still the gold standard for premium content on the site in my opinion.
