Rumor has always been that Vaan was shoehorned into this game at the last possible minute because Square was afraid audiences wouldn't be able to empathize with a thirty something grizzled soldier who may or may not be a traitor or a princess trying to get her kingdom back while grieving for her husband. Shame, as FFXII's writing is mostly more than capable of handling both characters.

@benpack

"Corn dogs as a side and 87 different flavors of milkshake" - were you referencing Cookout with this comment? It sounds like them, although I don't think they have eighty seven different flavors of milkshake.

EDIT: Nevermind, this is why I should finish watching to see if someone decides to fact-check themselves, Ben figured it out.

Cookout tastes fine. You get a whole lot of food for not very much money, but it's pretty greasy and fried and so on and so forth. If you're ever in the Southeast, it's worth checking out, but also if you don't get to it then you didn't miss all that much.

Zaxby's, though, that's pretty great.

...I loved the way Octopath Traveler looked. I thought it was gorgeous from top to bottom and its aesthetic style is probably my favorite thing about it. I enjoyed a lot of other things about it, too, even if its barely-connected narrative ultimately meant that I didn't quite finish it even after sixty hours of fighting, exploring, sidequesting, and changing classes.

I played all the way through Dusk over the span of a few days a week ago. Barring a few moments where you're lost in that special annoying '90's shooter sort of way, it's a whole hell of a lot of fun, with lots of ideas and a really good difficulty ramp. I don't think you could do much better if you're looking for that kind of game.

Finally someone picked Timespinner! I thought I was the only one.

I wouldn't say that Timespinner is my "game of the year", but it was the only thing I wanted to play for about a week straight and I did pretty much everything I could find to do in that game. I got myself locked out of one of the endings and that involved missing a boss fight, unfortunately - I would like to have been able to go back and do that boss. The only other complaint I have is that the map could have used a lot more verticality - there's a whole lot of running left or right and not anywhere near enough going up and down until the later parts of the game. But those are minor complaints in what is otherwise a pretty great game. I'll probably replay it one of these days, especially if Bloodstained continues to get delayed over and over again.

I hate to be one of those people but sniping with an analog stick looks painful.

But this game looks kinda fun. I'll probably try it at some point, feel like I'm getting way into it, and then never touch it again after the five hour mark, much like I did with Battlefield 4 and 1.

I played a lot of BF1943, BFBC2, and BF3, though, and those latter two on PC when I got the rig to run them.

Have you played any Siege? Just thinking about what you've said in this post, it seems like Siege might be right up your alley. More teamwork, more complexity, but still frantic and intense (and less buggy than PUBG.)

This reminds me of the racing in Jak 3, or the entirety of Jak X.

The James Bond movie where a guy has a third nipple is "The Man with the Golden Gun".
