Jeff said he didn't want to take out his ire on that one emailer about the PS5 stand, but that guy sounded smarmy as hell. It's ok to slap him down.
The emailer did come off a bit smarmy, but this only came about because of a miscommunication. The emailer is talking about the vertical stand and they definitely complained about the "vertical" stand before when they meant horizontal. Even though they are technically the same stand, using that wording would indicate which orientation. The fact that "some people said this on Twitter" is evidence of the confusion. Jeff acted like the emailer didn't know what they were talking about when it was simply a misunderstanding resulting from a miscommunication.
I get @brad's point that echochrome and Trash Panic will no longer be purchasable, but both of those and many other PS3 games (including Tokyo Jungle) are available on PlayStation Now and if that's the direction Sony is going in then there will be a path to get those games. I'm surprised no one even brought that up.
@sethmode: Got it! His great-grandfather buying that large stake apparently wasn't coincidence, but rather because of the name connection. So you can understand why he goes by "Armie" because of that. When you find out how many connections there are with celebrities, it becomes not particularly surprising. But interesting nonetheless.
@sethmode: Your intuition was correct. Both you and @brad were tricked. Armand Hammer was an oil tycoon who later in life bought a large stake in Church & Dwight, the company that manufactures Arm & Hammer.
