@CptBedlam: The video is from my brother playing the game yesterday. I'm about an hour into the game, and it's at very linear experience until now. Don't think it'll change.
Deadlight is on the way and I made a gameplay video of the first 20 minutes of the game.
My impression:
The game is fun and plays well, but the linear natur is a bit disappointing. I really like the graphical style and I was drawn in by the setting and wanted to see more. The setting is great, but the story is borring and very thin. There are some emotional beats troughout, but they seem unearned, because they aren't build up properly. The game seems a bit too short, and the story is both rushed and too little happens. I enjoyed the game throughout, but felt left down at the end. Seems like the price is a bit high.
Yes, people are spoiled and some communities on the internet are despicable, with entitled demands and trolling behaviour.
But on the other hand Downpour isn't very good. Tried it for 2-3hours the other night, and quickly returned it to work. Seems to focus on combat, yet at the same time has a horrible combat system. Some of its other elements seem promissing.
@Bucketdeth: Someone is trying to hard. Corporation Inc and Tiny Towers, only seem to have the fact that they take place in a skyscraper in common. Making a blatant ripoff on the same platform is hardly the same.
Open up preorders and let people understand that they are actively helping GSC fund the development of the game and give the people who preorder something extra (features, downloadable guide, soundtrack, early beta acces etc.)
The game isnt exactly a quality product in the technical department. I have also been fighting with framerate issues, and neither the scope or the quality of the graphics are impressive. It's pretty clearly badly optimization and poor compatibality that is at fault.
