@ll_exile_ll: What is more substantial about more strikes on the same planets?

Well, I was never among those that expected new planets and such. Don't get me wrong, I was hoping for a lot more, but I was expecting even less than this. After the absurdly small amount of things to do in the final game bungie has lost the benefit of the doubt in regards to delivering an adequate amount of content. I was expecting less than what these leaks suggest is in the expansions, but hoping for more.

Meh, I've been stuck at lvl 24 for such a long time now and I can't find myself to play for hours on end just to get suitable gear for raids which again, requires ungodly amount of hours to beat. Wish they would focus more on having more fun strikes and story missions. A bigger drop rate on loot would be great too... I don't think I'm going to be playing this game anytime soon in like a month or so.

The raid takes like 3-4 hours to complete if you have even a basic idea of how to proceed. That stuff about 10+ hours was for the pioneers that had to figure everything out for themselves.

I'm going to assume Saturn and Mercury will be patched in or something. If 35$ doesn't get you a couple of new planets, than I am bowing right the fuck out of that one. I hope the majority of the work isn't going into raid content again, I'm never even going to touch that stuff.

You should, it's the best content in the game. Just add a bunch of people from the GB clan to your friendslist and ask them if they want to check out the raid when you hit lvl 26. Worked super well for me, we ended up completing it today and it was amazing.

I will second this, the raid is great. I completed the raid for a second time today with a different group of GB duders than the first time I did it. If you're interested @doctordonkey, I suggest joining the GB group and sending some friend requests, there are plenty of people I'm sure would be more than willing to raid with you.

Upset about what? The new content seems much more substantial than I expected.

Are people upset that the info already in the game? I don't think that means the actual content is on the disc.

If it's free and it's on the disc is it really on disk DLC? The only thing I can even think of that was even remotely like that was the Vault of Glass not going live for Destiny until the game had been out for a week.

Other than very specific circumstances such as that where it's on online game and it was being used as an in-game event, I can't even imagine any developer doing what you're speaking of, there wouldn't really be any point.

As far being upset by this potential occurrence, I can't really see any reason to be. If a developer decided to hold off content on the disc to be released later for free I would have to think there would be some design or player experience reason. Regardless, the answer is no I would not be upset.

Good to know. Kinda weird how lengthy they've made the process of switching guns or subclass if they are expecting you to switch them up for each enemy encounter rather than a per-mission basis though.

They really should have something similar to Defiance's quick loadout switch (accessed by holding down the triangle button and then using the right stick to navigate a radial menu), or the Borderlands and Elder Scrolls thing of switching between equipment presets using the d-pad.

I think the fact that you lose much of your ammo when switching weapons is an indication that they are discouraging you from switching weapons mid mission.

Of course they are discouraging you from switching weapons mid mission. You should have grenades/secondary/special with different types of damage and you teammates a different combo, you have to plan for the mission or change weapons and use bullet cartridges. The guy with the correct type for each enemy shoots first. Just a little coordination. It's more tactical than Borderlands.

Yeah, I enjoy the tactical aspect the shields add to the equation, especially with the epic modifier on. My current set up has me covered for all three shield types: I am a void walker so grenades and melee for void shields, I have an arc damage legendary machine gun, and a fire damage legendary sniper to go along with a kickass legendary scout rifle which is one of the few primary weapons to have elemental damage, in this case fire.

Sure, you have to plan for a Raid and a Nightfall strike and I'm enjoying this feature of the game too. It feels more of a military experience than Borderland. I guy carrying 20 weapons and having instant access to them with no penalty is just stupid and I don't really like this feature in other games.

Let's go back a few posts here, do you even actually lose ammo when you switch weapons? I haven't noticed that. I have of course noticed that different weapons have different ammo counts, but I think they count it on a percentage basis rather than you losing stuff - so if you have 300 MG bullets and switch to the rocket launcher, you have 2 rockets. Fire one rocket and switch back to the MG and you have 150 bullets (gear bonuses to ammo count for different weapons only change the bullet count that equals 100% ammo for that weapon).

As for penalizing switching loadouts mid battle, I think Defiance did that pretty well. There's a cooldown on the ability to switch, as well as a brief progress bar during the switch. You don't have to wait for the Destiny inventory menu to load, or wait until it starts accepting input (which it doesn't immediately for some reason). In Defiance it generally feels like a fair mechanic, whereas in Destiny you're fighting a bad menu.

In the beta when you switched weapons you lost all your ammo, but after complaints they changed it to a 50% loss of ammo. How exactly they translate shotgun shells to sniper rounds or rockets to machine gun rounds isn't made clear, but you do get your ammo cut by 50% for switching.

You'll see the info listed under Weapons > General on those patch notes.

I would think having some 'lore' background of LotR would be nice, but not entirely needed to play the game. I bet the game will have some sort of lore section encyclopedia or lore review systems that players can look stuff up in.

Well, let's hope they don't stick all that stuff on a website like some other recent game.

@zevvion: Those rewards fro cryptarch levels are random. Some times you get two, some times you get three. Some times all are purple, some times all are blue. Or some times is a mixed. He did give me a purple last night that turned into an exotic though. I was happy.

I would actually recommend not claiming any cryptarch packages from the postmaster until the upcoming patch hits. Any legendary engrams in your inventory will turn blue with that patch, but if you don't claim the packages until the patch any legendary engrams you get will be guaranteed legendary or better items.
