Some of this Palmer Luckey shit is depressingly standard these days. If enough of the country is shouting nonsense then you have to pretend they're being reasonable and that frustrates the hell out of me. I refuse to look back on this decades from now and feel like I gave an inch on reason and human decency because there were a large enough number angry, ignorant people demanding I do.

The ideas that are becoming controversial are getting alarmingly skewed.

Also Overwatch is damn good. Nice that it wasn't forgotten.

I appreciate the Palmer Luckey discussion, never not frustrated with the SFV overreaction though. That game is worthy of criticism but so many people let the first couple of months color everything that game ever does. I can't see any options for Capcom to ever change their minds, it's lose/lose for them at every turn.

@otterchaos: I was speaking more of those who experienced the game elsewhere. You're right about this specific instance being a perfect storm of ill will, though.

It's strange how much people who don't like Accounting don't just dislike it but seem angry at the devs for even thinking it was funny. I'm picturing a lot of people with arms crossed looking downward at the game with as icy a glare as they can muster.

@nevergameover: Yeah, woof, that little nugget slipped past me. I second your questions.

This game feels like it would fall to pieces, revealing the suits behind the curtain, the moment I so much as touch it. Saying it has "heart" is totally the opposite vibe I get from something so apparently soulless.

This IS coming from someone who hasn't played this game, but this feels like marketing took form and decided to make a video game without human help.

@viking_funeral: To be fair by now ALL the main FF plots are middling.

...or just terrible if I'm being less tactful. Time wasn't kind to early video game story-telling. V's job system aging far more gracefully is what bumps that game so high on my list.

To me "fine" means it doesn't compare to the top dogs while still being watchable for its demographic. "Fine" means you can, in fact, do better. There aren't really any reasons to play this game either but I'd consider it "fine" for the modern young Sonic Boom fan.

Honestly I'm with the camp that thinks there's an irrationally strong hatred of Sonic to the point that decent stuff doesn't get a fair shake. That includes mediocre offerings, or "fine enough".
