I don't see anyone mentioning it here but for me personally I simply did not enjoy playing the Jensen character. He simply came off as disaffected and unlikable.
Seems interesting, the button locations seem off unless this is top heavy and holding it higher feels better balance wise. I haven't kept tabs on how SteamOS has been going but I hope they are being forth coming regarding most games working out of the box.
I'm going to go with The Kushan Mothership or The Pride of Hiigara from the Homeworld games. Containing the last remaining survivors of your world, you can't help but feel dread everytime an overwhelming force breaks past your fleet and bombards what's basically your home.
In terms of Souls-likes, Code Vein is a far less polished souls game that replaced combat familiarity with a constant stream of new skills and abilities that instead of rounding out your skill set tended to change it completely. Throw in the boss weapons with odd gimmicks that you get every other boss, every fews hours feels like playing a very different character. Strangely what I remember most about this game is the borked parry system where if your partner AI gets parried if you decide to attack the same enemy within a time frame you will suffer the reprisal in place of your partner and I could have sworn this very same issue appears in another one of their games.
Rhythm games. Last time I played them in any meaningful way was during the PS1 era. Fast forward to the release of the bright and colorful Hatsune Miku Future Tone which was actually two or three separate releases all coming out at once. Credit card in hand I was ready to buy them all based on the ton of content and the positive reviews. But something told me to just try the demo first and found that I was absolute garbage and could not deal with the the lowest star levels at the easiest difficulty. Then I realized that I was probably bad at Parappa the Rappa and never really finished it. I put my credit card away and uninstalled the demo.
At least Patapon is manageable and let's me think I'm decent... until the little Patapon characters stop chanting and I lose the rhythm.
I personally just live vicariously through all the different Chris's that send emails to GB. I was never certain if it's just one Chris that keeps sending stuff over and over or if GB has a secret army of Chris'(Chrisi, Chriseans,?). Whole divisions that just send a single email each every week.
@fluidk: Sure, I included the pic of Bakalar in the office because it was the first thing that came to mind when I thought about him being on the east coast by himself.
I know that speculation is frowned upon here and I'm sure others have mentioned it before but whatever form GB takes going forward it already has people that are proficient in production, I think we will get an idea of what that form it will take when they start getting new people in and where they are located.
Geez I just realized, how is Jeff Bakalar is going to fit into the new reconstruction of the company. The lone image of Bakalar in the offfice by himself just made me sad.
