I think I will go my entire life wanting to really get into Fire Emblem but never doing so. I played a few scenarios in The Sacred Stones through the 3DS Ambassador Program, and I never felt like I had a handle on it. Every turn felt excruciating. Attempting to level low-level characters either resulted in an unsatisfactory slog or a sudden death. And of course, I'm the kind of person that can't let people die, so every death meant a restart.
Combine all of that with never knowing just how long a scenario will take and the whole experience felt tense and awkward. I've thought about trying one of the series' "friendlier" entries, but I don't know.
Wait, Defy Media bought GameTrailers at some point? Oof. I'd never heard of them until learning of how they. . .set a certain course for The Escapist. :/
Woof, I know that "thinking more, doing less" experience from both trying to get better at Smash specifically and fighting games in general. I'm still working on the former, but I gave up on the latter before even messing around online. (A big part of that came from me also trying to learn to use a fight stick after having played fighting games with pads forever. It was like learning how to navigate a city while learning how to drive at the same time.)
I went from having almost no idea of what this game would be to wanting to maybe check it out? Good job! Then again, it probably helps that I can't help but hear Richard Moll in the main character's voice.
You're doing great, Dan, but you need to step it up! I just got the Mii 3-Pack today, my Lucas comes in next week, and I've got Roy and Ryu preordered.
Naturally, the chaotic setup of Paper Jam comes as a direct result of Luigi being an idiot. After he screws up an attempt to fix a hole in Peach’s castle, he accidentally knocks a storybook off of a shelf. It happens to be the book that contains the entire Paper Mario universe [...]
Whoa whoa whoa, hold up there! That's crazy! It just begs the question: Who wrote the book?
