My gaming-related goals of 2011.

Now, near the end of a year, normal people go and make all sorts of resolutions about the following year.

But I decided to wait until near the end of January because...Well, I dunno. Who cares, here's what I hope to accomplish this year in the realm of video games.

Play through the entire Mass Effect trilogy.

I've already played through Mass Effects 1&2 more times than a sane person should, but I still want to go through them once more just to make sure I have everything ready for ME3. Then, of course, I'll be playing the third one, and hopefully saving the galaxy. And punching that reporter in the face once more.

Buy a 3DS.

Probably not at launch, but the 3DS is just so darn cool that I won't be able to resist it for long, even if the games I'm looking forward to most are remakes of games I've already played.

Upload at least one good LittleBigPlanet 2 level.

I actually uploaded three levels during my time with LBP 1, but none of them were any good. But I'm hoping that if I put enough time into it, I can make at least one good level. I actually have plans for four levels, but I'll think about that after I do the first one.

Become skilled at Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Not skilled enough to play at tournaments or anything, but at least good enough that if I were to play online, I wouldn't lose all the time. Actually, I don't even want to be that good, I just want to be skilled enough to adequately use the regular control scheme, rather than the new simplified one. Yeah, I'm not really all that good at fighting games, but that's not going to stop me from buying this game (probably).

Acquire a copy of ZHP: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman

This kooky PSP game slipped under most people's radars, and I never got around to buying it (mainly because I never saw it in any store). But I'm going to try to get around to buying it on Amazon at some point this year (which is toughing that you'd think, I don't have a credit card), and of course I'd want to play it too.

S-Rank Deadly Premonition

I'm two Achievements away. All I need to do is beat it on Easy and Hard. And I will, even if it kills me!

S-Rank Mass Effect 3

While I'm on the topic of S-Ranks, it only makes sense that since I S-Ranked the first two Mass Effects, I should S-Rank the new one. And unless there's some sort of multiplayer mode (and Achievements tied into that), I'll have the S-Rank for this game. And then I'll lose it when DLC comes out, but then I'll re-S-Rank it.

Finish Alpha Protocol (with my friend).

Last year, after a friend and I finished Deadly Premonition (Endurance Run style), we decided to do it again with a different game, and we figured that Alpha Protocol was the next logical game to play. But we played it two times, and aren't very far into it.

Beat Deus Ex: Human Revolution with zero kills.

The developers of this game claim that you can play through the entire thing without killing any people, so I'm going to test that out. Not on my first time through, but maybe my second (assuming of course the game is actually good enough to play twice, but whatever).

Try once again to beat Dead Rising (and probably not succeed).

Dead Rising came out in 2006. 2006 And I have never been able to beat this game. In fact, I don't think I've even made it past the second day. Well, I fully intend on trying to beat this game once again, but I doubt I'll have the follow through to do it. Why? Because Dead Rising is fun for a little while, but when you keep dying and dying, and you don't get much PP because I keep forgetting to take pictures because I'm too busy killing zombies, I just stop playing. Oh well. Maybe this year will be the year...

Don't buy this year's Call of Duty.

I bought last year's, but that was the first one I bought since CoD4. I want to keep up the tradition of only buying one every two or three years. I'll just borrow it from a friend, beat the campaign, and then be done with it.

Don't buy anything at GameStop.

Man, I hate GameStop. And I've been saying for years that I was going to stop buying games there, but it seems like every year I end up getting something at one anyway. Like Deadly Premonition. Bought that there. But this year, I'm going to stick with it, and give them ZERO of my dollars.

Buy at least one Wii game.

Sure, there have been plenty of great Wii games the last couple of years, but you know how many Wii games I bought last year? One. And the year before? One. So, I want to get at least one this year, and who knows, maybe buy two.

And that's everything I can think of right now. Maybe I'll add more later.
