Oh my goodness. @brad and @danryckert really should do a feature with Brad playing the old Hitman games. You two are the perfect team for this. One of my favorite Quick Looks in a long while.
The guys were pretty disingenuous about the Rapp thing. She was repeatedly belligerent towards fans on social media, she was moonlighting as en erotic model holding nintendo products, and she PUBLICLY SUPPORTED CHILD ABUSE. It's bizarre that so many people are defending her shitty behavior and saying it was some dark internet cabal conspiring to oust her when she seemed to be trying her hardest to be bad at her job.
She actually did not support child abuse at all. If you're referring to her academic paper she wrote her argument while controversial isn't pro-child abuse at all. In fact its very much arguing against it. Context is very important here. Her argument basically is this and I am very much paraphrasing here.
Her basic argument is for separating the crimes of possessing and creating it. The people creating it are obviously more directly harming children. And while the people who possess it shouldn't be without punishment her argument is for a lesser punishment mainly for the fact that if people who merely "possess" have a less harsh sentence they could in theory get help for their addiction so they don't reach the point where they themselves are creators.
Its also disingenuous to deny that GG didn't have their hand in this in any way at all. First off they were constantly building a shitty narrative against her for what she said in her paper. Of course taking it out of context and twisting it to fit their narrative. Secondly, there are dedicated places on the net where these guys constantly mine for information on anyone that they want to take down. At the end of the day yes Rapp doesn't have her hands completely clean in all of this. She did go on her twitter that was linked to her work and talk about sensitive topics like the one she discussed in her paper. And yes she also did go against company policy by having modeling jobs on the side that interfered with Nintendo's public image.
Man y'all be tripping if you think the first Soulcalibur was better than SC2. Even remove all the guest character stuff from SC2 and its still a better game. The Single Player campaign stuff was fantastic.
