Still enjoying it. I think I messed up, though. Did very little exploring and jumped to the next galaxy. Should have spent more time in Compton. Let a few planets stay named what they were while figuring out the controls. Now there is no Eazy-E world in Compton. That does not seem right. Now I am so busy trying to upgrade and stay alive that I can't save up proper to buy a ship as fast as I would like. I feel like I missed stuff. But my multi tool does have horns. Can I even restart? Not sure. Looking forward to trying.

I am enjoying it. Nice little game I can drop in and out of. My gun thing I bought has tiny horns on it so there is that. I found a penalty for death. Lost all the cargo in my ship. Survived an attack on the ship and then promptly crashed into an asteroid. I think it helped out that I was not expecting the game to fix all my problems and make me a sandwich. Named my first system Compton and want to name the planets after members of NWA. Crashed tonight. That sucked. Expected some bugs, though. Hope it stays few and far between. I really like flying from planet to space and the upgrade loop is good enough. Found some weird planet where there is some gross lifeform taking over the stuff inside an outpost. The lifeform did not do anything but there are messages that says something like "I touched the ground and it had a soft sensation pulsating beneath it. Should not have interacted with the lifeforms." I like the partial messages leaving things to your imagination.

I am happy with the 1070. I personally need a SSD boot as my old gaming laptop spoiled me firing up in just a few seconds. Here is the pre built I picked up.

First one was DOA. Had to get it from a brick and morter 'cause I had a feeling that would happen. The parts they used were pretty great and comparable to what you are shooting for.

No one left to lie to: The Values of the Worst Family. Seems like the only issues the US has with Hillary is her lack of opinions or enthusiasm. We know Trump is a dumpster fire. I needed this to stay as terrified of Hillary as I should be. It worked. The read was alright if a bit terse. More informative than enjoyable. I prefer Hitchens' Thomas Jefferson: Author of America.

I've not played it but Shadow of Mordor is supposed to look great if you have the VRAM to max it and with 8GB you have more than enough.

First thing I did when I got my 1070 was install the ultra textures pack. Bit underwhelming, honestly, but worth doing if you already own the game.

Witcher 3, on the other hand, made me shed a tiny tear of joy on ultra at 60FPS.

Yeah. I just picked up a machine with a 1070 and tried Witcher 3 again. Wow. GTA5 looks amazing as well.

Looks like what I expected.Stopped watching after a few minutes. I enjoy the build, explore, upgrade loop. I have not played too many of those style games so I am looking forward to this.

Managing expectations is a general life skill. I had hoped the new Star Wars would be great and it was a bit of a let down for me. It had no long lasting effect on my life, was over it fast. The idea of taking glee from others disappointment is foreign to me. I knew it existed, but the degree I am seeing it startles me. I should not be surprised (and I am not), but I am disappointed. There is a reason why Big Brother and shows like it are so popular. The Germans had a word for this, schadenfreude. I want to think that people are just trying to protect one and other from something that would disappoint them without the ability to notice that their view is only an opinion. Unfortunately, I am an optimist, but not delusional.

Sketchy control feel, weird stutter when entering a new tile, and a generic feel in comparison. What is weird is I still play it. Same happy feeling when upgrading ships and just puttering around choosing sides and whatnot. You can scan crap. That's cool. Weird repair beam. You can send dudes to board ships I think, but I just blows them up. Doesn't have the feel of Galaxy in combat. I got it on sale earlier this year so I don't regret it. You can pull power to engines, weapons, or shields and that is cool. Clunky is how I would describe the feel of targeting and combat.
