Science is impossible without a consistent, verifiable method. Changing the formula would necessitate the reevaluation of all earlier results, if one wants to be able to draw valid conclusions from the data.

Exactly this. Normally I'd be all for some guest researchers to join in especially if they have a history with the subject. But this is cold hard science and changing the science guys now would, to be scientific about it, "fuck the whole thing."

Absolutely. The experiment must remain clean. Now there is nothing to stop a separate experiment from taking place. Same data would have to be entered. And the conclusions could then be compared. Did you vet these considered "scientists"? Would you consider their data at the same value as the current scientists? If not you must develop an equation that properly weights the data.

This is Diablo. My sister gave him to my mom 8 years ago. Turns out my mom did not really want a dog. Funny thing is, even as a puppy it won't leave my side, so I took him. Stubborn old dog went grey around the mouth before I did. Take that father time. His stubbornness also earned him the moniker Burro-man.

Yeah, put your OS on it. It is worth the cash just to hit the power button, type your password, and be ready to go before you swallow a sip of your drink. I want to get a large SSD for game storage, but like yourself, can't justify performance vs. cost.

I don't really. I'd rather just play the game myself. It has to be a really dense game for me to really watch any of it rather than just to see if I am interested in the game or not.

That said I do watch some on the Souls series as you can miss entire chunks of the game and there are so many secrets. Epic Name Bro does some nice lore rich videos as he has helped write a guide on DS2.

I grew up poor so video game gifts from my immediate family only consisted of Ataris and the like from Goodwill or flea markets. My aunt and grandpa took a shine to me because they could talk world events and politics to an 11 year old boy. I used to read the paper from my paper route keeping me up to date. My dad only read the comics and reading was like garlic to a vampire for my sister and mother. The rest of the family are mostly harmless knuckle dragging troglodytes. As a thank you for saving them from TV talk and family gossip, one Christmas they got me a NES with Mario/duck hunt and that light gun thing.

Dark Souls 3 and Doom. Ringers.

As for must plays. I think No Man's Sky was cool. It is different and interesting. I loved the Blood and Wine dlc so I will throw that in there. My space games itch have been scratched with House of the Dying Sun. I think Salt and Sanctuary is a great Souls homage. Problem is DS3 came out right before so I never finished it.

@bdead: I must admit reading this, my first thought was puff, puff, give. My second thought lead me to an exert from a Steven King book.

Occum's razor at this point should cleave this idea from being true. Too many variables. The greatest of them would have to be free will. I love the Hitchen's quote "Of course I have free will. I have no choice." Imagine doing the math concerning the creation of the universe. Then having the burden of holding it all together while computing the multiple possibilities that free will would impose. What if you were never meant to write this? What if by choice you created a very similar one? Is that written in the code as well? Where is the jank?

You can not completely disprove this, but the absence of proof is not the confirmation that something is true. Random chance does happen even at the sub atomic level. There is beauty in the simplicity of that without the added complication of that theory. I require more evidence before considering that supposition.

@lanechanger: That is interesting. I guess it would hinge on chance of reproduction. I don't think something produced by mathematics could be subject to any copyright laws as there can be no intent. The math itself would have to be on trial and could be proved/disproved on rate of reproduction. I really like the headlines. Algorithm: On trial.

I have a few confessions as well:

I have trouble beating games in the Soul's series as I restart and re-spec too much.

I never did like pokeman. Not even back in the day.

FF VIII was bad enough to make me stop caring about the series. I almost never played X or XII because of it.

The last FPS military shooter I did not actively dislike was Bad Company 2. That game was great.

I never played Half Life 2.

I don't like Earthbound.

Uncharted 2 was the only one I liked. I keep trying and still don't enjoy them.

I hated Twilight Princess but loved Skyward Sword.
