Firstly, file formats have absolutely nothing to do with actual waveform editing. You chose file formats when you bounce a project. You should know that as a supposed user of Pro Tools.@100_Hertz: ...dude, I hope you can read! Editing means much more than deletion - at least it does if done right. I can and do convert formats while editing my music (in Pro Tools), so I guess you simply don't know too much about editing to have a view. I guess your flabberghhastedness comes from your original spelling error, and perhaps from a lack of understanding for the uses of the language, where a "counter" can mean a "surface". M4A files are far less common than mp3 files, as evidenced by popular podcasts like Giantbomb and Eurogamer. My machine's inability to read these files is not unusual, so perhaps you should make your podcast available to more people instead of getting all self-righteous about your formats. "
