Have they explained how this game works if you don't subscribe to Sony's or Microsoft's online service? Do you still get stuff like the bridge that someone else built at the start? Or the power generator in the mountain Brad was talking about?
The one thing that immediately stood out is how small a lot of the text is. Especially the item description text at the start when Brad was choosing his loadout. Seems like it's a good size for PC+monitor, but it'll be rough on TV.
Have these games always had an in-your-face Mature Content Notice disclaimer when you click the Campaign button? Considering this is an M-rated game, it seems really weird to also have a disclaimer that essentially says "BTW this M-rated game has mature content in it."
I can't think of any other M-rated games that do this. But maybe I'm just being forgetful.
EDIT: Also, Yuri Lowenthal's voice is so distinctive, I'm surprised they didn't pick it out. Even when he's trying to sound gritty, as he's doing here, he has a very noticeable voice.
I know they point it out multiple times in the video, but it's so weird to me when they're using Stardew Valley as their point of reference rather than Harvest Moon lol
Though it is cool that SV got so many of the crew interested in the genre. I personally fell off the game pretty hard sometime in the first year.
I wonder if Dan will like Rune Factory. It is very anime, so I could see it pushing him away.
Baffled by people describing a very absurd, silly game as 'gritty', and confusing bleakness for cynicism.
It was funny how they agreed the writing wasn't good as they mashed through it inattentively. I get that it's a QL, but c'mon.
The crew seems to be buttoning past a lot of dialogue/text in recent times. The Indivisible QL with Jan comes to mind. As does that Spongebob game they were playing recently. Ben was just skipping all text, dialogue, and tutorials.
@redhotchilimist: Yeah I'm bummed at how seemingly none of the crew seemed to latch onto DMC5. It was absolutely incredible, and right now it's tied for my GotY with FF14 Shadowbringers.
I'd like to see Jan/Rorie run a FF14 dungeon or 2 for Extra Life. Or I dunno if Jan will be level 50 by then, but it would also be fun to see them run a 24-man raid.
I love the Valkyrie Profile series (was actually recently thinking of replaying VP2), so I'm definitely going to pick this up when I have time to really dig into it.
