So, in the announcement ala pancakes you admitted that the new things you were trying to do in terms of advertising hadn't worked out how you wanted. That a new model with less anti-social ads just wasn't possible right now?

My impression was that this was one of the big goals for Whiskey Media and Jeff and the crew. To pioneer a new way of keeping a business funded with these better ads and maybe to make up the difference with dedicated subscribers and a smaller leaner team. Am I to take it from this news that the books just didn't end up balancing when all was told? Did the experiment fail, with the conclusion that that's just not quite possible right now? The other implied question from that is, could GB or WM together not have remained independent and financially solvent or is it rather the case that what has now happened just offers a better deal for everyone?

While I'm asking all that, a bonus question depending on the answers to the above, which I would understand if you didn't answer, is if it had worked financially, would you rather that WM had stayed independent? Thank you if you're able to answer these questions.

Without reading them, because I haven't played ME3 yet, I've seen one headline specifically about Mordin from ME3 and yet he'll never be with me in the game since he died in my suicide mission at the end of 2 and so I'll never have that experience (whatever it was) that someone so meaningfully had with Mordin. That's an incredible thing to be the case. It's incredible that Wrex might be in this game for some and yet have died not jus tin the last game but the one before. I wonder if this kind of feeling will be replicated many more times through a large game franchise in the future?

Just to clarify my previous statement about this falling on its face, I'm not against the Kickstarter (or any Kickstarter for that matter) but I just didn't see the interest being there.

Well, they are looking good for it at 50% done in around 14 hours so far. It's not my thing and there's no added documentary for this one so I won't be backing, but with fans as rabid as the ones for this genre, you don't need that many people interested for it to succeed. They're currently averaging at $55 per person so far and so would only need a bit over 15,000 fans at that rate which makes it very doable. Also, you can't deny Fargo's pedigree from all these older games everyone refers to as classics and people of certain age who can remember those are probably ones with a fair bit of spare cash to hand as well.

Well, I finally decided I should take it upon myself to write a proper wiki page for one of my favourite game designer's Jonathan Blow. I'm quite pleased with how it came out.

Really like the Brad and GB deaths in QL infographic.

That's just a dream game. There are many more besides. Firefly game does sound rather could but it could be done in so many ways - would it be linear or open-world for example.

It's beautiful. Congrats.

Only other info I was looking for was a comparison of average time to death for everyone from GB in case that is readily available.

But he doesn't have it in cash. He'd only have that money if he sold his stake in Valve.

Nevertheless I'm sure he has a decent amount of money and I'm delighted at his success and that of Valve.

My housemate is going to GDC this year which is pretty cool - he just left on Friday.

The Bastion public reading sounds really interesting - wonder how it will go down with others in a shorter format with others who have been doing the playing of the game - that's where the impact really comes from. Carrying Zulf is definitely the key moment from that game really and the one that will stay with me most.
