@kryshut: Glad to be of help. Mobygames is a great resource for this type of search.

@boozak: There was an option in the menu to change those to a different command. Not sure what it changed to since I left it on the default, but I noted it was there.

Just tried this tonight. I only played the first three levels but I enjoyed them. Noticed that there were some inacessable passages so I assumed I would be returning later. Glad to see that pans out. It feels pretty great and responsive to me. I've seen some people who have had input lag, but I haven't experienced that on my computer running Windows 10. Playing on an Xbox One gamepad and so far no problems.

@apewins: Want to know what’s even worse? They have the same DLC ads for the DLC in Forza Horizon 3, but the DLC has been delisted so you have to spend 90 seconds watching an ad for DLC you can’t actually buy. And mind you I have the version that cost like $150 when it came out.

@bigsocrates: I’ll agree with you on every front except that Mighty Number 9 isn’t better than the dump I took after single handedly eating a Taco Bell Party Box in one sitting. I would have vastly preferred nothing.

@gtxforza: They still have a bit to go before I consider them a major player. Honestly, I very nearly didn’t mention Kylotonn either. When it comes down to it neither WRC or Assetto Corsa are mainstream titles.

@bigsocrates: You are right, although they are currently making a Fable game, although that might be a second team within the studio. Regardless, I should have mentioned them as they probably make the best racing games going right now.

Even with them included, losing a dozen or so studios and gaining one really doesn't change the overall perspective. The industry used to support well over a dozen of these caliber of racing studios and now at best supports three or four. Even beyond the UK, you have Nintendo, Polyphony Digital, Bugbear, and Kylotonn really as your only major racing game teams.

@kryshut: Here is a list of all first person shooters made for Windows computers in 2004. Hit the little "X" button next to 2004 to remove that parameter and then select a different year if it isn't among the titles listed. Note that there were well over 2000 results in total, and nearly 150 just in 2004. Without anything more to go by that is the best anyone can do for you as you seem to be describing a Counter-Strike/Battlefield 2 ripoff which would encompass probably 50% or more of the games listed.

I think that the closure and consolidation of virtually all the major British racing game studios over the last generation is pretty telling of the fate of the genre. Studio Liverpool, Bizarre, Evolution, Black Rock, all gone. Criterion a shadow of its former self. Codemasters purchased by EA. Like outside of Turn 10 the British racing game development scene is more or less dead. You’ve still got some work going on elsewhere in the world, but for a good 25 years the British were the masters of the genre. Seeing them collapse like this has been really tragic.

@kryshut: Was this a modern day shooter or sci-fi? I’m afraid desert maps with capture and hold objectives isn’t going to help much. There are literally hundreds of games that fit your description. Were there classes? Abilities? Anything that would make it stand out?

@clagnaught: Hit the ignore button beneath a game you aren’t interested in and Steam will stop showing it to you. Also go through the Steam suggestion queue every once in a while and ignore or wishlist what comes up. Steam gets better and better at suggesting new games the more data you give it.
