Saluki Jeff's "S" Rank Games
A list of the games I've "S" Ranked. I'll also drop in my overall thoughts on the games and discuss the perseverance needed to get a perfect "S" Rank!!!

This one was tough. There was a 14 month period where I could not even bring myself to look at CoD4. I had spent at least 3 nights a week over a month trying to get through those damn Missile Silo corridors on Veteran with no luck. When I finally worked up the fortitude to give it another try I knocked it out in two sittings and even nabbed the coveted "Mile High Club" achievement. This "S" Rank is probably the one I am most proud of on my Gamer Tag.
While not nearly as difficult to "S" Rank as CoD4, with Oblivion there was also an extended break between gaming sessions. Oblivion is a long hall and I had finally hit the wall after the last of the guild side missions. However, after a year and a half and 100 hours of gaming I returned to the world of Cyrodill and the Shivering Isles to knock out this "S" Rank
I really enjoyed this game. The combat was fluid and fun, the city traversal was awesome. I do completely agree with the common complaint that the quests (and the game as a whole to a point) were very repetitive. Despite that I truly enjoyed playing the role of Altair. Now finding all those damn flags is a different story!!!
EDIT: Had it "S" Ranked prior to the DLC. I liked this game a lot so I will likely pick up the DLC for some more face stabbing fun!
EDIT: Had it "S" Ranked prior to the DLC. I may pick up the DLC if it goes on sale anytime this Holiday season. Don't want all that weapon trading to go to waste!
What can I say about Bioshock. I was truly enamored with the story of Bioshock and the city of Rapture specifically. I motored through this game, soaking in all the ambiance and mood of the city. Upon finishing it, I immediately started again to relive the wonder of Rapture, and to get the "Brass Balls" achievement!!! =)
I enjoyed Darksiders more than I thought I would. Like all the reviews say, it is "Hella Zelda-like", but in my mind that is a good thing. The combat system was fun, the items you picked up along the way were varied and fun to use...it was just plain fun. The final few achievements along the way to the "S-Rank" were a little grindy for my liking, but ignoring that little issue, the game is really fun!!!
I've always been a fan of the Civilization series. The first entry on the consoles admittedly did seem like Civ-light, but lets be honest...who wants to micromanage all those details. Combine the ease of use with the best combat system (it made the most sense anyway) within the series and you have a winner in my book. Those Deity achievements were also a real challenge...and that is a bonus!!!
In general I'm not a huge sports game fan, but I had the opportunity to borrow some of the 2006 season games from a friend and it seemed like a "good" way to pad my Gamerscore. Needless-to-say, after one one game and a little bit of shame I added a quick 1,000 GS to my total and another "S-Rank" to the list. This is without question the easiest 1,000 GS I've gotten to date!!!
A little bit tougher than the NBA 2K offering but still amazingly easy to "S-Rank". As a bonus I was able to see my beloved Southern Illinois Salukis absolutely destroy the Duke Blue Devils. A little bit shameful, this easy 1000 GS, but hey, Points is Points right!!! =)
This "S-Rank" took a lot longer then it's basketball counterparts, by a factor of 6 at least. That said, having the opportunity to win multiple Superbowls with the Bears and then fire head coach Lovie Smith was well worth the monotony of simulating 30 season of professional football!!!
I "S" Ranked this Windows Phone game with the help of my son. He really loves racing games and this helped pass the time on several long trips. The achievements gained were really just a bonus!!! =)
Another GameFly special...and boy am I glad I did not buy this game. It is awful. It's only redeeming quality is that you don't need to play it for more than an hour to get all 1,000 GamerScore. Thank goodness for that!!!
I have to hang my head in shame.....ah screw it, points is points right?!?!? Thanks Doritos!!!
