The tutorials for this game should REALLY highlight the significance of using the dodge to cut down on the recovery time after an attack. If you aren't dodge rolling (or hopping/sidestepping for weapons that use those instead) to cancel your animations, you are straight up doing it wrong.
I can't wait for this game, here's hoping they don't butcher the translation too bad. DQ7 has got some surprisingly dark stuff in it for such a generally lighthearted series and they've been known to ruin the tone in previous remakes with their nonstop barrage of puns and accented speech. Fingers crossed.
@gvalo: No, not at all. DQs 1, 2, 3 and 4, 5, and 6 are loose trilogies (basically the legendary heroe of the past in 5 was the main character in 4, etc) but 7, 8, and 9 have no connection to each other.
Wow, after watching Drew stomp his way through the previous episodes with zero subterfuge I was expecting The End to be a huge fiasco, but he handled the fight perfectly. Great job.
I think this is a pretty good Castlevania game overall, and definitely better than the massively overrated Super Castlevania IV, but yeah that Leaning Tower stage is awful, like top five worst stages in the series awful.
