Man, it makes me wish that game was a bit more Macross in the soundtrack, as much as everyone was talking about how good the soundtrack was. Let me end the war with J-Pop!

I also wish Macross-inspired games weren't all bullet hell's which I just... don't find fun.

I cant watch these with Rorie in it I'm sorry he is a great guy, but I'm trying to enjoy the games you guys are playing and have to listen to a rorie story for each game that gets played.

Now that I'm starting to plan a home arcade cabinet with a PC in it, the slew of retro-inspired pixel-art games that have been flooding Steam for the last five years or more are getting me real excited. There are a hell of a lot of great classic arcade titles out there on emulators, but modern developers have really brought the medium to new highs. All three of those shmups Brad showed off are must-haves.

@brad Devil Engine is basically designed for you to beat it on easy first (even a scrub like me could do it!). You're nuts for sticking to "very hard" IMHO

The Division 2 endgame generally speaking is another game. The dynamic way the difficulty ramps itself up around the open world, and rewards generally speaking gear wise deploy for the more fantastic fights depending on invasion 'alert' level which is something like a GTA wanted level, the bounties, secret missions, etc, make the end-game as playable as the world tier 0 story first 15 hours. Missions are awesome, the raid less so, but the fun of the Division 2 will always be finding 3 other bored randoms to just farm around and see how the world throws the odds, bouncing emergent obj. to obj. Rorie, if you haven't seen it yet, 'Bushwick' on Netflix is about as close a movie to The Division as we have until they officially make one, and is more in line with Div2 than 1's story. I liked it, you might if the Division is your thing.

I'll never enjoy the way the rusher min/max extremes play but it's fun with the world tier jumps seeing how the game requires you as a player to get better at the game and understanding your 'build' decisions. I have a gripe or two about how they (still) don't tutorialize enough of the number-tweaking at the cap push, but overall it's fun to check in on and updates are pretty frequent.

Anthem however... as much as I would like to play it, oof, nope.

Surprisingly bad Austin Powers takes. Just rewatched the first and completlely holds up! Revisonists!

i know its said a million times but rories participation in upf would be increased in quality 1000% if he could concentrate on whatever thing everyone else is doing for at least 8.5 minutes at a time. not lofty goals but maybe one day. at this point all my upf view times are about 20 minutes in when i've got tired of him asking jeff an off topic question when they're in the middle of a conversation.

im sure there's good content but im never seeing it outside of infinite reruns as i go to sleep.

I was just Googling Dan Bluth and Titan AE last night. I loved Titan AE so much as a kid. It even made me enjoy "Higher" by Creed, somehow. Ben's excitement at Titan AE being mentioned only reconfirms he's one of my favorite duders.

Supposedly the Nioh 2 alpha invites (at least for this weekend) have been completely random. Nioh streamers are only able to get their hands on one through generous fans. They'll probably run several more tests, including one with invites for press.

Considering that real cloning doesn't work at all like it does in scifi, um, nah, that excuse ain't gonna fly.

I’m with Brad (though to a more extreme), I really only care about games that are on Switch. If it isn’t on Switch, it’s not worth my time.

People scooting forward a little during the drop in Apex doesn't mean they're cheating...it happens all the time on PS4 and is just a bit of lag.

Also Ben isn't very good at Apex. Left a R99 sitting on the ground when he had only a Havoc with the single shot on...yeesh...
