Ok check this out idea for a new Mass Effect. Set it way before humans were even a part of the larger ME universe. You get to choose between and fully customize your own Salarian, Asari, or Turian. Background is set during the events that caused the founding of the Specters / you become the first Specter. Toughts?

I really liked Mass Effect Andromeda and playing it at 4k on a PC the game looks good and has awesome gameplay, despite the visual bugs (which weren't present for me short of the facial ones since ya know I was on a PC) it was a really good game that got way too much flak. It actually looked a lot better than what people were also giving it credit for. Some scenes in that game were breath taking.

I never finished it but I always think about wanting to go back and play it. I loved the powers and freezing people, shattering them, and/or launching them 500 yards into the distance never got old. I really got into the multiplayer too and was having fun but the packs and loot box way to level up and get items was fucking dreadful.

I bought Anthem as the legendary edition and I just don't know if there is anything that can convince me to want to play again in that shitty jungle world. Unless they add Diablo type loot and prefixes or just the best coolest new areas ever (that jungle with ruins got super old super quick) the game is not going to get returning players.

Gaming landscape changes weekly, always something new and better coming out or already out. Anthem needs to completely overhaul every single aspect of the game AND get rid of the terrible story, cutscenes, and just scrap everything but the assets. Every thing about the Anthem world SUCKS, the lore SUCKS, the story SUCKS, the cutscenes are so awful - whoever created this world literally just copied Destiny and said "Ah there we go!" I was in the closed alpha, alpha, and additional beta phases and every time I was like "please just be more when this thing c omes out" and they never delivered. They can change things around though It is POSSIBLE though look at Final Fantasy ARR, like you wanna talk about a game redeeming itself?

Everyone should play Jedi Fallen Order, though, def GOTY contender standing side by side with Control!

That Star Wars game sounds pretty cool. I'm gonna hold off on it for awhile, but it's definitely something to think about getting.

Star Wars ran fine for me on PC; I had zero issues. Surprised by how good it looks. Probably the best looking game to date, at least that opening section. First time I felt like I'm playing a next-gen game which I guess I kind of am with a GTX 2080.

I'm not sure how a new Mass Effect game is even a hard concept. Hand-wave however you must the whole "The whole milky-way is in ruin, earth is a waste land". Turn back on the gates, bring back the Citadel, let us meet old characters from the first 3 games. Make, I dunno, Lyara a party-member (because people like their blue waifus right?) Give us a new galaxy ending threat (like the species that made the reapers..or whatever made them..or whatever they made the reapers to fight or etc etc I forget MEs larger meta story).

Poof. New Mass Effect game. The only real keys, to me, is that it be set in the milky-way, involve plenty of elements that bring back fond memories of the first game (locations, characters) and most importantly, NOT SUCK.

I literally lost sleep over the Half-Life announcement. We've been waiting close to 12 years for official info on this franchise. 12 YEARS!!! And it turns out that guy Tyler Mcvicker was right all along! What a time to be alive!

Confusing amount of hate for Chromecast? It could not be easier to use. I have 5 hooked up, even on PC monitors. It's made streaming video and livestreams a much better/easier experience.

Easy premise for a new Mass Effect game: a Turian and Krogan CSEC buddy cop/neo-noir, where we get to dive into granular detail about all things Citadel. No use in trying to match or one up the scope/stakes of the original trilogy.

@bladededge: The NOT SUCK request is nebulous at best. Quite a subjective thing. But hopefully they have some talent to bring it home.

Granted I haven't played or been exposed to much of ME Andromeda, but I'm an apologist for ME:Shadow of War so hell I may actually enjoy it.

When I heard the last ME would be set in Andromeda I actually became really hyped at the storytelling and setting prospects of such an alien place. Seems like they really didn't quite stick the landing there, going from heresay.

I don't get Ben's criticism of the naming of Path of Exile 2. They are overhauling basically everything about that game. Graphics, animations, double the number of classes and a new campaign, there are plenty of sequels that change far less. If all the changes didn't apply to the original campaign I don't think anyone would have a problem.

Just get it through Origin Access. If you get through it in a month, you'll spend 15 bucks

It's because they are all locked into the Apple Ecosystem. With Android / Chrome it is a breeze

On Android it's a piece of piss and is extremely useful. Probably the best piece of tech I've ever bought.

Continually surprised at how little gamers will accept for the sake of nostalgia. Pokemon Sw/Sh doesn't seem like a $60 game that came from a multi-billion dollar company. But people do love having piss in video games.

So what gets rebooted first, Anthem or Artifact?

FWIW, I didn't have any weird bugs in my Jedi: Fallen Order experience (on PC via Origin Access Premier). No t-posing, no disappearing platforms, all that jazz. Ran great for me with all Epic settings. On the other hand I watched my sis play it on an Xbox One X and it was...rough.

Man I do not get the love for this Pokemon game. I picked it up because I'd be down for a good Pokemon game, I haven't played one since Red but the nostalgia is still there. Even with that, this game is so mediocre in every aspect.. boring story, terrible characters, cheap production (game could use some voice acting), super easy (exp share.. 90% of the trainers i fight get one-shot by my starter pokemon)... and all I'm hearing are positive things from people. Donno what I'm missing, straight up bored with the game.

The best character in Mass Effect is Miranda, and Miranda is a Cerberus operative and Cerberus are the bad guys - so how about this - make a game about Miranda doing literally anything PRIOR to joining up with Shepherd and just being a cold hearted killer and assassin ... so basically Jedi Fallen Order but without a shitty protagonist, and having Miranda instead, and no light sabers because she doesn't need one since she is Miranda Lawson.

AND here is how they redeem the Anthem series besides scrapping everything but art...(I put 100s of hours into this game and I can tell you there is not much short of the shooting and flying around that is worth a damn.

Make a trailer, show robots all fighting and monsters stop to look up as a ship flies by that says N7 on the side. Then have Commander Shepherd say something like "oh no snakes I hate snakes" and a giant snake eeats the ship, and then cut to the logo and everyone will be like wow mass effect is in anthem they got us guys, they got us.

I'm not even a huge fan of Mass Effect but I think a game about Miranda Lawson needs to be made since she has some of the most interesting back story AND having the ability to do morally reprehensible quests "or" not would give a chance to bring back the paragon/renegade system.

There are so many real cool ideas they could do with Mass Effect - there is absolutely 0 reason for Bioware to give up on the series and work on a new IP (as evidenced by Anthem, new IPs arent in their wheelhouse). It is sad they keep losing people over there but what exactly is the problem holding back from them making a game with such talented group of people? Even a game about being a salesman on some backwater crime riddled planet could be fascinating. The world is fleshed out. Anthem on the other hand they can just make that into a Mass Effect thing and it would make people care. Considering there is N7 armor in the game I think it isn't hard to imagine that is just a shit world that you could visit in a good Mass Effect game. Hey there's an idea, just make Anthem a planet you visit in the next Mass Effect game, and you can play Anthem while you're on the planet, and the rest of the time play a better game when you're not on that planet.

I don't think Control shows that you can still do a fresh take on a stale genre. I think it's that people wanted to see a modern game that builds on Psi Ops & Second Sight. A fun third person storybased game with crazy powers. a style of game that we haven't seen much of the last decade.

Also, isn't World War Z a pretty decent Left 4 Dead type of game? Left 4 dead has the brand recognition, but if you want to see that type of game in the year 2019, World War Z seems like it does a pretty good job to me.

As always, Blitzball is a great minigame compared to Tetra Master and FF10 is among the best Final Fantasies created.

As a Rune enthusiast, the new Rune game looked bad. I'm looking forward to a new Drakan type of game though. Third person action adventure game with a ton of different weapons & attack modifiers in which you can fly dragons with elemental attacks.

People will be more forgiving of Andromeda nowadays because you can probably get it for a pretty cheap price + that game has received a bunch of patches compared to when Brad played it for review. That's only natural.

Did Stadia get released now because this is the time where gamers are making big ecosystem choices? Like in the last months we've seen people get into Gamepass, getting pulled away from Steam by Epic & Rockstar stores, Humble triggering FOMO feelings by changing their business structure and giving people a better deal if they commit to their service right now, Origin throwing me in a Origin Access trial without me asking for it. Xcloud chatter happening. And naturally the new consoles launch next year.

It feels like multiple services want me to commit to their service right now.

I think the map stuff exists for folks that don't play a lot of games and are more drawn to the Star Wars aspect.

I also think Stadia got released now because Google wants as much time to try and sell it before Sony and MS drop their next machines. I don't expect it to work out but I believe that to be the strategy.

I don't get why they continue to be dismissive of Street Fighter V. It's a good game!

There has many Fast & Furious games 2 for phones, 5 for Arcades, and 2 (3 if you count the DLC for Forza) on console.

It's crazy to me that Jeff wouldn't finish the companion quests in Outer Worlds. I always do those quests, even if I don't like the a particular companion. It's often some of the most interesting content in this type of game. In Outer Worlds, the final stuff about Felix actually helped me see the character in a different light.
