I'm still curious to try PSO2, but it doesn't sound like a game I'll stick with for the long haul.

If Ben likes pogoing endlessly off enemies heads and wants a much better metroidvaniea experience might I suggest Hollow Knight.

I love hearing sentiments like "you trust firefighters in a way you don't trust cops" here. A lot of the gaming community's politics are uh...not good (not that this isn't known or anything). It's comforting and honestly relatable to engage with content made by people with good politics and GIant Bomb is among the best.

Jeff talking about Split or Steal is like when I make the deck at work but my boss gives the presentation.

@drachmalius: I still wonder about the MS involvement with it, announced in conjunction with them and the beta on Xbox One and the next one supposedly also available through Windows 10. Maybe it's something that is going to launch through GamePass?

Thanks by the way @Jason for pointing out that Scourge Bringer is available in Game Pass for PC, I've been checking it out and finding it interesting. I think Ben's only issue was the value of length of the game vs the $13. Not really an issue for me in Gamepass.

Why do so many Podcasts get the same question from some weirdo? That rate 1-5 question was at least on Game Informer or MinnMaxx last Friday. It happens all the time. They were all bad questions also and wasted so much time with it. Sony isn't putting out a handheld, MS isn't buying Bioware.

Heads up, I’d shoot CRT’s from some distance. That glass can be pretty thick and ricochets/fragmenting are no joke. I shot one from a distance with an 8mm mauser and it was Pretty Cool.

Oh, and clean up your shooting spots! Keep public land clean so we can keep being hooligans out in the middle of the desert/forest

Honestly, I play GTAV online; a ..lot? I guess? I used to just binge play over three platforms. story on ps3. ps4. then online exclusively on ps4, then fresh on pc since release- nowadays I hop in when I need to just rob a liquor store or see what crazy is goin on, and it's one of few games where the text chat can be really funny. To be honest though, once you earn enough cash in that game, or settle into a specialty and loadout, the content in the open world itself, to me, is now very old feeling. For all intents and purposes, the city streets are basically a deathmatch/griefing zone, and/or CEO manhunt and cargo transportation. The map itself is huge, and that means usually, even in a fu'll lobby, seeing other players on the minimap usually means one of three outcomes, die, kill, emote and drive around. And that's fine, but if that game had not continued with the insane load of heists and jobs and missions you queue up for, that game would have been a ghost town. Then they extended the game with more, and more and more, of these queue type missions, and I really enjoyed the casino heist. However, the open world, like the large expanse for possibility is...almost empty, even with spur-moment challenges. It just feels like they could do something more with it; most of all, incentivize player cooperation or shared activities that aren't just 'kill gang'. They did add arcades that require two people to play, and that actually is a pretty strong start, and yeah, you can play golf with other people but...I dunno man, I feel like there needs to be more emergent gameplay stimulus on Rockstar's part for the player. This is all to say that one, I think Rockstar needs to rethink the structure of a shared, sprawling space, and sectioning off missions in lobby menus. The CEO stuff is close to what I suppose I want, and now there are are random 'mugger' npcs, so they might be headed in the right direction.

I also wondered myself 'How's Anthem doing?" the other day, and lo- I spent an honest 4-5 hours having fun with the stuff they've added and polished up so far- nothing that SCREAMED at me to come back like a destiny or warframe universe can for some people, but I am already somewhat impressed at how 'okay yeah I dig this much more' I cane away from the session with. Not only that, if it's passable at this point with what they've quietly done, attracting what would surprise a LOT of people in terms of concurrent players (I don't have figures but it's a lot, especially on PS4, and continuing to climb, a giant spike when that announcement was made I am told)- so it's something to pay attention to. I in hindsight feel like people freaked out way too hard at Bioware, and I too want them to pull it off, which is where Jeff Concludes, except- Jeff Anthem was almost fucking sweet, why would we not want that, no matter how many other games come out? I am no Anthem apologist but I do like seeing potential fulfilled and I had a suspicion for a good long time that this might happen, if nothing other than to throw it in the faces of those who were so OVERLY toxic (death threats, the youtube slam channels etc). If they do it, I'll be happy, I like the idea of Anthem, I like the flying and some of the fighting in Anthem, and I love it when the internet who shit storms so hard the developer one ups them, and, a game I already spent money on, I can come back to and enjoy it more.

@ogjbizz: Isn't the best outcome for an individual to steal while the other splits? I think the classic version has "nobody talks = a mild sentence for both, one talks = no sentence for him, big sentence for the other". Could do it in a kind of Virtue's Last Reward "battle royale" version.

Baldur's Gate 2 had an interesting variant where you and your sibling are locked up* and given a button, if only one of you presses the button the other person goes free but the button presser dies, both or neither press then both die.

I've been listening to some of the early bombcasts and I have to say I'm not thrilled with the growing level of political and social commentary that has been creeping into the site the last few years. They are entitled to their opinion and I am by no means going to get into a debate about any of them here.

People can argue that everything is political and that they should use this platform to advance their views but the dwindling apolitical hobby communities - more like the site used to be- where people can co-exist and enjoy an activity without sniping at people with different political viewpoints is a problem. Things like this will only further the toxicity and division in society and is only helping to foster the troublesome troll culture they hate so much.

I have expressed this here before and gotten push back in the past and so be it. It is frustrating to see a large chunk of people demonized (some rightfully and others not rightfully) over something which this site doesn't need to expressly join a war on.

If people can come together over a shared interest, that can be the start of more people learning to dialogue and discuss issues in a healthy way. The current trend of soapboxing every platform only ends in complete alienation and isolation - with each side in their own echo chamber.

Giant Bomb is one of my favorite sites and I have consumed 1,000+ hours of their content and subscribed over multiple years. This has been a troubling trend the last few years though which I fear will only further fracture the community of a hobby we enjoy. Thank you for reading and considering and have a good day!

I'm with Jeff, Bioware have proven nothing since probably 2012 or whenever ME3 came out.

I don't think Anthem deserves a second chance. It made more sense for FF14 because it was still a learning process at the time and honestly if they couldn't save FF14 there is *a* possibility Final Fantasy wouldn't be a thing anymore in this day and age, so they had to do something.

Anthem doesn't have that legacy and all my faith in Bioware as good developers was a version of Bioware that I don't think has actually existed for the better part of a decade, the lead up to ME3 was probably the last time I was genuinely looking forward to a Bioware game.

Just take it out back get it over with, put it out of its misery and go back to making somewhat unsatisfying Dragon Age games, even if they're completely forgettable these days, at least it wouldn't be this trainwreck. I dont believe they're capable of anything better than that.

@mcmoo: it’s still better than most places. I’ve tried visiting other forums and it ranges from utterly vile like NeoGaf to moderately O-K like Reddit. Even ResetEra which is usually mentioned as one of the top sites to go for gaming discussions has the same sort of people that talk down to you and are passive aggressive as everywhere else.

Perhaps it’s because a lot less people are commenting and using the forums on GB but for the most part people seem a lot more civil. I’ve given up on going to other places really.

@mcmoo: I don't go out of my way to find liberal podcasts, but it seems like everyone on all the podcasts I listen to are pretty left-leaning, but rarely so much that I think anyone reasonable would be offended, and I can't think of any Bombcast situations that would be too political.

If I remember correctly, Ben mentioned some time ago that he did try Hollow Knight out. Unfortunately, it wasn't his cup of tea :(

My GTA friends list is around 20% replaced banned accounts, from about 25 total.

@loktarogar: I really wish there was some cross-referencing. I know they're not going to consume each other's content, but podcast emails can easily be forwarded to avoid these situations. Maybe I wouldn't care if the email was actually good? Almost all of that list was bad to very bad.
