The episode description says they talk about finishing FF7; do I need to worry about spoilers for any plot changes from the original game or nah?

@theflamingo352: Nothing to worry about, it's spoiler free. They teased doing a spoilercast or something later this week.

The turnip thing and what people do with it isn’t really a problem with the game, that discussion was really weird... I gotta say I hated the online part in AC. It’s really sooo complicated and it takes so long. When it works it’s nice but it’s really painful to set up every time. Can’t stop playing the single player though. It’s so addictive and relaxing. I get that it’s not for everyone but the hate that some people seem to have about it is... weird. But that’s game(r)s I guess

We absolutely don't need a remake of RE4. That game is perfect as it is, especially after the remaster. On the other hand, Code Veronica definitely needs a remake but I guess it would not be as easy to market as 4...

@sintes: Seeing how RE3 is compared to RE2... I'd also much rather have a remake of any pre RE4 game. The new engine works great with the style RE games had before becoming action packed anime adventures.

Geez Jeff you go out of your way to play average games including pso2 but skip out on Final fantasy 7 remake and then read about the ending you really are a degenerate sometimes.

Well one of the major issues the crew and folks I know had with it was the movement and also the aiming wasn't very accessible for colour-blind players. Would love to see improvements in that

@jedikv: About the red dot, I agree. But the movement system is so crucial in this game, that without it the game wouldn't feel half as tense. It would become just a silly shooter.

I see Dan is just using his old contacts to sell his new job... color me surprised, I guess it lets GB get some of that corrupt WWE money. If anyone ever again talks about how bad WWE is in their politics and still takes this advertising money it will be sad.

Also not a very good week to be taking WWE money.

What if... RE4 REmake is primarily to make a new continuity that lets them skip 5 and 6 ala Holloween 2018 erasing everything other than the first movie?

The central villain of Code Veronica is someone with schizophrenia that cross-dresses as his dead sister. So...I can see Capcom not wanting to really touch that as its not obvious how to rewrite it. That and Code Veronica was always developed as a side story (despite the myth it was RE3 internally).

What would be cool is if they made the original RE3. Or RE4. Or RE2. Funny how all of those games had internal builds that were very different. I think RE4 even had like 3 different versions (one was on a boat so maybe RE: Revelations is similar?)

I'm a RE:CV fan so I'd love a remake but I wouldn't count on it. What absolutely should happen -- and what I want most -- is a Dino Crisis remake. They can make every dino behave like Mr. X. Jurassic World was a huge international success so people still care about dinosaurs. It's such a layup for Capcom but I can see the higher-ups just thinking of the RE brand and milking it for all its worth.

Beyond Good & Evil’s last boss definitely left a very sour taste in my mouth. I actually did beat it easily the day after my first attempt(s), but by that point I already loathed it.

Does Dead Space’s turret section count as a boss? Because I stopped playing the game for 1-2 years because of it.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is maybe the most recent example. I died to the last boss on Leon’s campaign so many times, that I lost any desire to play again as Claire. Easier aiming on pc probably would’ve made it way less frustrating.

I did not realize it until the crew discussed it, but that question about whether you prefer Team Ninja or Ninja Theory really tells you a lot about the person answering it.

We may not need one, but I don't get why people care so much to be upset that they might be doing RE:4 REmake. Yes, they have ported it quite a few times, but it has essentially stayed the same visually (with an HD update eventually) the whole time. The REmake engine looks phenomenal, and after watching some RE:3 REmake, I think it would play really well. For those who don't want it, don't buy it, but I think it will be very financially successful while still being a good game. It is also just old enough that the visual update would be very noticeable, and it will introduce many people to it who never wanted to play and "old" game.

The music was bad enough but that email song was so fucking obnoxious holy christ. Sorry for the bad language, I just thought it unlistenable and am hoping they stop, but it's their show, so do whatever.

Not a big deal, but what's with this trend of playing the first second of the break song, cutting to an ad, and then having the rest of the break song at the end of the ad? Is it some joke I missed? It sounds weird and bad. It's happened like every time since the work-at-home casts began.

Calling Receiver gun-porn, is basically the opposite of what the game is? It's like anti-gun porn.

Call of Duty is to Burnout; as Gran Tourism is to Receiver. As far as how dry and clinical they present something games usually glorify in every other instance.

I gotta say, I am excited to see resident evil 4 remade. I understand that a lot of people think those resources could be better spent making something new or updating a game with rougher edges, but for me I find RE4 unplayable. I tried the Xbox one version last year and the controls were too much for me to wrestle with. I've loved the RE2 remake and look forward to the RE3 remake when the price dips a bit. Just my 2 cents, I hope you all are well.

As someone who just lost 140 lbs and has hit the 400 days in a row streak logging into MyFitnessPal, I will say calorie-info HUD would be amazing. Like, if it could tell me the calories in everything I look at and give me a reading on how many calories my body has burned today, along with a daily updating BMR? The majority of the time and effort in my weight loss has just been weighing foods, calculating calories, tracking it, and planning my meals (and snacks) around calorie counts.

I wish I liked FF7R's combat anywhere near as much as Ben seems to. It's definitely a step above the mediocre action combat Square normally puts out, but even the "fun" characters like Tifa are largely mashing the Square button until you're allowed to use other abilities. I'd take it a million times over compared to the abysmal combat of 15, but I'm hardly dying to get into more battles or anything. I think it actually might've been pretty fun as a co-op experience where each person controls a character, although with how often the party is forcibly switched up that could be annoying.

NPCs were never going to fix Fallout 76, that line of thinking was from people who didn't know what they were talking about nor did they know what they want.

Not having NPCs was the one good decision Fallout 76 made to begin with. Bethesda cannot write compelling characters or interesting dialogue to save their lives, they just cant, it's been a joke since 2005.

So saving time and money by not doing that was honestly a really smart idea, the game didn't need it. However the real issues with 76 are too deeply embedded in its foundations and its core design philosophy for any one thing to fix it, let alone goddamn NPCs. I put 80 hours into it because I had to see everything in that game top to bottom to know if there was anything redeeming about it, I really wanted it to be good, there just wasn't anything in it and very few redeeming qualities.

Though I did actually really like the region they designed, it was more interesting to look at than Fallout 4 or 3 and I had moments of arriving at a city and being like "Wow that's genuinely really cool looking." But that doesn't change all of the far larger issues with the game as a whole.
