Not yet listened to all of it but from the show notes are they really not talking about Mafia Definitive T all? It’s surprisingly good and after Tony Hawk a REALLY good Remaster I was really surprised.

I got to say, Sony is getting off to a bad start. Their pre-order start during their price reveal was a blow up. They promised more pre-orders in a "few days". Those days came and went with no pre-order update. Bots set up by scalpers took most of the pre-orders and put them on Ebay for ridiculous prices, so no system was in place to prevent it. Gamestop got in on the con by announcing new pre-orders which really didn't happen, because it came out that they held back on the initial pre-order launch and their employees got the pre-orders for themselves with only a few costumers getting lucky. And now rumors are growing that the real reason Sony don't have many PS5s ready is because many of them are reporting during the manufacturing process to have a defective chip of some kind. And now this aggressive $70s push and no upgrade path for first party games on PS4.

Meanwhile, Microsoft's pre-orders were also not great, but a lot smoother than Sony's. They have already given out prototype consoles to top gaming vloggers and content creators to test the backwards compatibility and resume feature and it looks great. Their Series X is fully backwards compatible with the full Xbox library spanning decades, unlike PS5 which is only backwards with most PS4 games, and there is doubt that is even true. And they so far have a free upgrade path to Xbox One and X games.

Honestly, if not for Sony having a lot of the exclusive games I want to play on it, I'd really consider either an Xbox Series X or a major PC upgrade like I did during the 360 and PS3 years.

Luckily for Sony, the RTX 30 Series launch seems to be even worse.

World of Warcraft stinks. It stinks of stupid people wondering about Arthas, wondering where he could be, who he is with, what he's thinking, whether he's thinking of them, and whether he'll ever return someday.

Hades is weird in that you have to escape 10 times to get the actual ending, I've got 8 escapes out of 43 attempts now, but at this point I've done it with every weapon and I just want to see the credits roll already. I can't imagine most players will actually take the time to beat it ten times.

What's the cover photo about? What's the connection?

Maybe not everyone will make it through everything. But i sure will. I did 100+ attempts over the course of early access, and some of which were considered clearing the game at the time since they added more levels over time.

Is it just me or does this bombcast have a bunch of sudden cuts or jumps in the timeline?

@rorie I know you mention WoW and Magic often when you are on the bombcast but you should stop apologizing for it. It is clear that you enjoy those games (not WoW recently). So just own it. There is nothing wrong with having a check in to let the audience know about the current state of the games from your perspective. Brad updates us on Destiny, Jason lets us know when something new is going on with Monster hunter. Nothing wrong with you letting us know how the regular games you come back to are doing.

Really wowed at the paranoia around suspend/resume. I spent this entire generation, both consoles using it on a near daily basis. The only issue I had was occasionally RDR2 on Xbox One X would not resume properly, but the auto save was always recent. This feature has been so convenient.

What I feel like Jeff missed with the vtuber/wrestling comparison is that for the vtuber, streaming IS the equivalent of wrestling , so it's largely irrelevant that "wrestlers don't stream in-character" because the actual equivalent would be something like the vtuber using their digital avatar in some capacity other than streaming.

That Eurogamer article on PS5 BC is full of errors and mis-information written by someone with no clue, they couldn't even get Mark Cerny's name right, don't confuse Digital Foundry who are the tech guys with Eurogamer that write crap half of the time, The top 100 games are for PS5 Native mode ie it's Boost mode, 99% of PS4 games will run on PS5 as they do on a PS4 or PS4 Pro when you run the PS5 in legacy mode.

Edit.. Also in regards to Spider-Man info taken from the Playstation blog post today.

I'm not sure if this counts as obscure, but I remember a game called Lil Jon Crunk Golf, which was an early phone game about hitting golf balls off of city building rooftops in the windows of other city buildings while Lil Jon yells Lil Jon things. It's pretty great

Quick resume definitely lines up with the way I play games. I think there are a lot like me too.

It's a pretty common "they've already won" sentiment. Kinda sucks.

@scylo: It might be aimed more towards people who love replaying roguelikes a looooot. I'm someone who has thousands of hours in Binding of Isaac (final expansion coming soon!) and Hades is absolutely fantastic. I've escaped about 3 times now I think and there's so many difficulty boosting options once you beat it the first time and I look forward to the point where I'm notching the heat up like 10 times. That and I want to get all the cosmetic stuff in the House of Hades, and fill up everyone's relationship meter and see how that works with all of the trinkets everyone gives you. Each weapon also has an extra locked ability and I wanna find out what those are too, and level those up to see how crazy it could get.

There's a lot to do and I feel like getting to the end isn't always the main point in these games, at least for me. Good roguelikes tend to keep unlocking more content the more times you "beat" them and Hades does it too. And I really want to see everything it has to offer! I like this game a lot so far and I'm really addicted to it.

It is just a problem that we can't solve without collective action, aka, the government passing laws with teeth to them.

Unfortunately governments ain't gonna do shit because they're effectively owned by corporations. maybe EU, I dunno about the politics in those countries, but the USA and my country (Australia) are straight up corporate lapdogs.
