I love Jeff's stream setup. Especially when his streams are all about dipping in and out of Old Games, the silliness they bring has a chaotic energy that I find really entertaining. But I think this Quick Look and the previous one for MK11's DLC felt sort of spontaneous or ad hoc. It's not really obvious when watching live that it's a Quick Look and I think the gang is finding it easier to just decide to use their scheduled live block time to knock out a QL (rather than what I assume is the traditional level of planning and production). It doesn't bother me, but I wonder if maybe Jeff has just been absent minded about turning off the overlays, or if perhaps the decision to turn a stream into a QL is made later. These are Unprecedented Times, after all.

OVERLAYS!

Been watching the minecraft streams with the multi-stream tool and Jeff's quadrant annoyed me there... this is nuts. But JEFF GONNA BE JEFF!

Overlay is slowly consuming the entire stream.

Wow, that little jingle from CBS at the beginning really caught me! I didn't recognize the visual, but the audio I knew instantly, note for note, end to end. That was cool.

Having only played this on the PS1, I never realized just how much they sunk into setting the scene and how much the FMVs weren't just corny missing framing devices.

That and Jeff's endorsement of this being a little more old-school and a little less twitch-based means I might ACTUALLY pick up and play C&C for the first time ever.

The Red Alert 2 installer fully explains the events of Red Alert in an in-universe briefing video that I wish every sequel did. Briefing starts about a minute in, also, Red Alert 2 has the best installer ever made don't at me.

I won't say the remastered art is amazing but i'm not against it, when you go back and realise how few pixels there are i think they did a great job cleaning it up, i flip between them a lot but stay on the new graphics for the most part.
Opinion, normal mode is hard mode, casual is normal :P.

I recognise some of the sound effects from that opening briefing cinematic from the esper machine in Bladerunner.

I just wish more of these had two people :(

I love GB and quick looks because of the banter and industry trivia that comes out of multiple people chatting about what's going on, and when it's just one person it reinforces my own quarantine loneliness.

I miss cool installers like this. Most of the early CnC games had really cool installers.

I played RTSes like Total Annihilation and Warcraft, so when i came to C&C i was always extremely confused how your vehicle becomes a main base. I think i would just click around in desperation until it 'magically' deployed :D

I bet that's like the main reason i never went far with C&C. Although i did like watching my neighbor play Tiberian Sun. The way that Tiberium looked in that game really did it for me for some reason.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned there's a good 10 pixels or so of Mega Anser below the game footage. It's like a fun Easter egg.

I really don't like Jeff's overlays. It was a funny joke the first time for a few minutes, but it isn't anymore to me. Especially for a quick look, I want to see how well the remaster was handled, and it being so small makes that harder than it should be..

I strongly agree. Jeff's overlays made this unwatchable for me. It's just too busy, they detracted from the quick look so much I stopped watching altogether. To be honest, I have never liked Jeff's overlays. It's at times like this Jeff needs a strong editor to tell him, no, don't do this, it's awful.

I love how they recreated the DOS installer. This really seems like a labour of love and, well, I love that.
