Only about halfway through, but I had to say how happy I was to hear some love for Doug Stanhope. I've been a fan for years.

Are you fucking shitting me?! I love Nikki Glaser! She's one of the funniest comedians out there. And she did an episode of a mental health podcast that better helped me understand eating disorders. Haven't heard her on as many podcasts as I used to, so I'm very much looking forward to this.

@tothenines: Just wanted to comment about the idea of feminism not needing men to join the cause due to sexism. Let's say that women and men make up an equal 50% share of the population and women are being oppressed. Without at least one man changing "sides" how do you enact change?

To change the hypothetical slightly, let's talk about racial inequality. Would you consider it racist for white Americans to fight for the rights of African-Americans?

The broader point I'm advocating is simply that without a majority it is difficult to affect change, and sitting on a sideline makes it impossible to do so.

amen to that. i'm starting to get sick of the mentality that having a child is something to be commended regardless of the circumstances the child is born into. i would go as far as to say in general not having children is the thing that should be appreciated and rewarded even if you're well to do. or adopt, for crissakes.

I was going to skip this one, but the comments actually convinced me to give it a go to see what the fuss is about. 10 minutes in and yep, some videogamesmen and a comedian are casually discussing the topics in the description in a crude manner. As advertised. Maybe an "explicit" warning would do some good. "The following program contains coarse language and due to its content it should not be heard by anyone."

I implore you to reconsider listening to this podcast if the description doesn't sound appealing to you. Go check out some Ori and the Blind Forest videos instead, that game looks super rad.

Still, I'm glad they're doing this podcast! I know a lot of people enjoy this sort of thing.

You had me at Dan losing his virginity.

This might be my new favorite premium feature. The people Dan knows and the things he has done continue to amaze me.

This episode was alright. It seemed much more in the "funny" direction than the "advice" direction. The tone was just a bit different than recent episodes and I feel like the answers weren't given as much thought as they have been in previous episodes.

Have to admit the first few minutes were pretty funny.

Nikki was great and she added a fun dynamic to the show.

Ever considered that it's because Dan is the only one actively creating new (recurring) content for this site at this point. Seriously, Giant Bomb Premium content would be like a barren wasteland without Dan.

I find it ironic that they held back considering all the comments about how overly raunchy this was.

I personally found this to be a blast. Part of my wished they would have abandoned the question format this time and they just traded stories. I can understand why some were thrown off by it, but I think it went right up to the line without crossing it.

I'm really looking forward to the Samantha Kalman episode as I said earlier. I expect that to be insightful and fascinating. Um... as I said earlier, I am not looking forward to that comment section.

I'd say this was my favourite episode so far. While I liked the previous ones, the "hey, don't be a complete asshole" danswers most questions so far have been getting were becoming a little boring.

Goddamn, I love Glaser. Definitely the best Danswers so far.

This is consistently turning into one of the greatest premium features joining Unprofessional Fridays and Metal Gear Scanlon! I hope they keep this up, the guest was hilarious, and even though this episode was more humor than advice, it was still a good window into the human psyche. Loving a lot of what Dan is adding to the site, keep it up!

Yeah and it's kind of a problem, the amount of people streaming on Twitch or making stuff for YouTube but no other staff members can find something to run for the site? It has never been easier to capture game footage and sling a video together.

Your problem is very clear; you're putting women on a pedestal. Don't be afraid to talk to a woman at a bar or a social setting like a mixer. It's not rocket science that people are there to hang out with other people, and a good chunk of them are there to pick someone up. You don't need cheesy pick up lines and you don't need to fall over yourself worshiping the ground they walk on. The key to talking to women is, get this duder; talk to them like they're fucking people.

Don't get cutesy, unless you're a dork. Some women like dorks, some women don't. Don't put on a voice, don't change your posture, don't pretend to be something you're not. Women--especially in a social setting like a bar--will pick right up on that shit and shut the party down. And for the love of God and all that is holy, never apologize while approaching a woman. All you're doing in that case is telling her that you think she's above you, and that you're not worth her time. If you don't believe you're worth her time, then why the hell would she give you any of it to begin with?

I have to shake my head any time the Dans go on about "gross guys" or how they lament that said "gross guys" have fucked up approaching women at bars for the "nice guys". No, they haven't. Feminist Guy, you are not a scumbag or "gross" for asking if you can buy someone a drink, or compliment their hair, or take an interest in what they're doing on their phone. You are not a creep because you approached someone. If you approach a woman with fear and trepidation, constantly falling over yourself to apologize for the inconvenience of saying hello then you are setting yourself up for failure. Utter and complete failure. Furthermore, if a woman tells you to fuck off because you said "hello" then it should be self evident that she's a shitty person and not worth the time or the effort. Pop your collar and move right along.

And lastly, Feminist Guy, don't worry about how every other guy behaves, worry about how you behave. What other men have or have not done is utterly irrelevant. You do not need to apologize for someone else's poor behaviour, especially someone you've never met or even heard of. Public displays of self flagellation while attempting to approach someone inthe same conversation is an utter turn off. Don't do it. It's stupid and ends badly. Respect yourself enough to know that you're a good looking man, that you dress well and that you smell nice, and if you treat the woman you're approaching with the same respect--that is, treating her like an adult--then you'll find that most women will be pretty open to at least having a conversation.

Don't be afraid of women, man. They won't bite unless you ask them to.

Now, for something completely different...

Pro-Tip for everyone; if you see a couple fighting in the street do not get involved. It's not your place, no matter how badly you want to be Macho Man and ride in to save the poor damsel in distress. Every couple has fights. Every couple can get into really intense fights. Getting involved is going to do one of two things. One, it'll embarrass the shit out of both of them, or two, they're going to gang up on you and kick your ass. I've seen both things happen, and while number two is utterly hilarious to watch, it's generally not recommended to embarrass yourself like that in public.

The only time any kind of public intervention would be necessary is if you see two people throwing hands at each other. When it gets physical, do what you must. Otherwise, stay the hell out of it.

And one last thing; Nikki Glaser is hilarious. She should be the permanent third chair on this thing.

Oh yeah, I agree with you completely there. But I certainly wouldn't blame Dan for other staff members slacking.

I don't know if you were too busy multitasking listening to the podcast at the same time as writing threats to semi-famous women on Twitter but your assessment of Glaser's remarks smacks of wilful misinterpretation. She didn't say don't have a kid until you have 10k in the bank, she was (rightly) suggesting you be financially prepared for it; she wasn't advocating you should cheat as a way to break up, it was quite obviously a joke; and you've completely misquoted her on the 'all men want to bang everything' thing (a segment of the conversation where she was blatantly on the side of not cheating). Sorry to insinuate you're part of the loathsome group of gamers in this community who seem to possess a peculiar hatred for women behind the veil of 'ethics' or righteousness, but I can't imagine people would have such a hard time trying to interpret the remarks of a male comedian as they seem to with this pretty girl with a sense of humour.

Another great podcast, keep it up.

I feel so bad every time Dan mentions his anxiety attack at Conan. I know the opener (Jimmy Pardo) never intended it and would probably feel like absolute ass if he knew.

But it's so bittersweet because Jimmy Pardo's podcast is my main squeeze and one I actually pay for. Thought worlds were colliding the first time I heard Dan mention the opening act for Conan.

This is the best Danswers yet, good mix of comedy and advice. Please don't ever start filtering your humor for anyone's delicate sake.
