Quick Look: Dead or Alive 6

Nobody listen to Ben, Police Story is still a very entertaining comedy/action movie

coincidentally it seems like Dead or Alive 5 Last Round had a Quick Look exactly 4 years ago

I wanted to try DoA 5, but the amount of DLCs was such a turn off. Hope they don't do the same to this one, considering other fighting games on the market right now (Tekken, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Soulcalibur) deal with DLCs in a much more reasonable way.

As a dude who plays Absolver daily still, I'm in the market for another fighter, and the line about this being an entry level tekken has me interested. The way the animations and attack chains work looks more *cough* natural than tekken's tapmash, but IDK, maybe someone in the comments can steer me straight on this. If it's as free in movement as it looks with attack timing and flow with fighting that makes sense, I think I'd pick this up..

Also, if I did, I would turn that natural motion toggle on instantly, the water balloon boob stuff is silly and fun but ultimately the ability to turn that off is a welcome addition. Weird how that's an addition in 2019 but hey this is the video game's lineage. The ability to take female characters more seriously isn't censoring it's an improvement in game design, as snob progressive as that may sound. It's a small, weird step, but a step.

@knoxt: DOA is maybe the easiest fighting game to pick up and start playing. The execution requirements are extremely low and DOA5 had a great tutorial. If you want to try it, this weekend on Xbox and PS4 there is a free online beta that features almost every character. (also the ability to turn off the breast physics was in the first game so that feature has been around awhile)

Dude. Tekken is an entry level Tekken. Tekken 7 is my first Tekken game since like Tekken 3, which I only played at a friend's house. It's an incredibly intuitive, easy to pick up game. If you want Tekken, get Tekken.

I'll be honest I thought the textures, animations, and flare would be more impressive for a 2019 game. There is without a doubt room in fighting games for something that can be played mashy...not every game has to be super-skill based. Dead or Alive has had a place in fighting games.

With that said, without a flourish of incredible on the animations, I don't think this package is as compelling as it should be. Also, while in the past the "sexy dial" was two clicks too far. However, I think they should have only gone back one click - not two. Part of the whole package was the cheesecake and I think the way to make it more appropriate was to make the guys a bit more beefcake. JMO.

Is it me, or do other games from 2017/18, seem to have better textures than this game. I don't follow the game graphics of fighter closely enough to say, but the game just does not look as good as I imagine it should.

Police story is fantastic and has probably one of the best action ending sequences of all time. what is ben talking about

Jeff only mentioned Source FilmMaker, which is a 3D modelling and animating program along the lines of Blender. If you projected "porn" into that, that's all on you, bud. ;)

@synthesis_landale: I might be wrong, but I think thats a Playstation 4 system message, that usually appears when playing something bought digitally on a PS4 that's not registered as your main console, and playing offline. It's usually just a case of being online with the account the game is connected with to fix. Its mostly to stop the issue the PS3 had of people sharing an account, using it to buy a game, and then being able to play it on multiple machines.

@wobblysnake: Sure, but they know what they're doing. That's why they sell expensive titty costumes by the boatload at exorbititty-ant prices. There's an audience for whom this game is literally just about titties fighting each other.. This is not a game I'd want to play with family or friends in the room, because it takes five seconds for it to get weirdly horny-but-not-totally-horny-so-you-can-pretend-it's-not-horny-but-that-just-weirdly-makes-it-hornier.
