Demo Derby: PlayStation Underground: Volume 4 Issue 3

Love these but as these keep going it seems that they play each game for 5 minutes, rage then quit out. In 10 episodes they won't be playing the demos but looking at the icon and moving on.

My favorite thing about these old demo-disc quick-looks is when Jeff and others tell interesting facts about these old games. Like how the russian mob was into pirating PS1-games and how Sony/Insomniac tried to counter it. Also interesting to see who developed what.

Generally Jeff is a naturally funny guy but that was awful.

@redsoundwaves: Yeah I actually still have one of those demo discs. I wonder if the one in the picture you posted is real because if it is, that would be a great demo disc to see because Fighting Force at some point got cancelled for the Saturn.

That whole Pogo Painter interaction... Jeff is seriously the most interesting person in video game coverage. He needs like a 50 part documentary series.

Yeah, to me the entire point of this is the memories it stirs up in a veteran like Jeff. Drew and Dan are clearly not going to have context outside of "I remember playing this as a child" while Jeff was actually IN the industry at the time - it adds a WHOLE 'nother level to this stuff. It's incredible. It's a really insightful sort of time capsule for old games.

Wow, the nipples on that Olympian in Sydney 2000 loading screen... last game you'd think you'd see something like that. Who on Earth greenlighted that idea...
