As a PS3 owner, does someone have warm feelings towards the Resistance games ? To me, they looked generic without anything that sets it apart from other shooters. It managed to look more generic than killzone.

I will NEVER complain about a modern E3 press conference again!

This was amazing, but seriously this would have bored the crap out of me. :D

The animations in Eight Days actually remind me a lot of Max Payne 3, honestly.

A little sad that only three people are on the couch(es) for this one. Was hoping the press conference stuff would have more of a full house like the E3 stuff last year.

Most of the stuff that was Sony's pie in the sky ideals and hopes for the Playstation also did eventually happen. It was just a bumpy road.

Also, I loved Heavenly Sword. Still pretty great!

@jeff Resistance shipped with 40 player online. 20 v 20.

My god.

I watched these.

I subjected myself to this WILLINGLY.

I looked forward ALL YEAR to this.

And the worst part is... I continue to do it year after year.

Video games really were a mistake.

I liked Resistance 3 quite a bit. It was the only one in the series that tried to actually tell a story and had decent action. The other two are incredibly bland and boring.

Yeah, I dropped in just to express my "WTF?" moment there.

For a lot of the fights and especially the optional fights you had to have your shifts down and change them on a dime to buff, attack, and defend. I've had the same thought for years about the combat system and I still think it's one of the best.

I beat both XIII and XIII-2, but never did any of the optional challenge bosses nor did I feel like grinding for the ultimate weapons. My experience with that battle system was tap A once per second, and only rotate to heal or stagger. The fact that you could get through the 40+ hours each like that made the game's combat really boring to me.

Yeah, the revisionist history on FFXIII is getting worse and worse. It wasn't great, but it wasn't that bad.

Man watching this versus the PS4's second press conference (when they announced price and all), it is night and day. They clearly learned a lot and changed things up proper.

Yeah, I remember some of those late optional bosses being a great use of that battle system. But nothing else in the game was like that for me, even though they went as far as capping the levels at certain points (presumably so they could properly balance the combat). It always boiled down to "auto-battle" with the occasional switch to block/heal.

I'll concede they got progressively better with the combat design in the sequels, though.

I like FPS and I was a huge fan of Insomniac coming off the PS2, but I could never get into Resistance. I've tried several times and there's just something about the way those games play that I couldn't get into.

I know they probably couldn't get the rights to air it, but I'd love it if they talked over the 2005 Xbox 360 reveal with The Killers, Elijah Wood and all that nonsense.

Heavenly Sword was surprisingly awesome, I remember the 6 axis stuff actually working really well in that game and the gameplay being super solid. I bet that game holds up fine today even.

I remember being incredibly hyped about the FF13 trailer from this conference. I downloaded it onto my video iPod and was showing it to friends while we tried to work out how the game was going to play based on the 2 seconds of gameplay the trailer showed. I had to go look up the iPod specs from that era and found it was rocking a 2.5 inch 320x240 screen. How did we even see shit back then? At the time I was really into ripping DVDs to my iPod and it was really cool to go on a long trip with all of Star Wars in my pocket, but I can't imagine watching anything on a screen like that now.

@docman: It also featured some of the best writing I had seen outside of RPGs proper. Ninja Theory have always had a knack for really weird and sad stories that I've always been real into. They don't hold back where other studios clearly would.

lol, wut? I was born in 1988. I mean, I've heard the song before, and probably heard it the first time I watched this press conference in 2006... I just never knew who did it, despite knowing The Chemical Brothers.

Oh take a compliment you :) I was born in 1980, and in my brain, Galvanise can out last week, not terrifying 11 years ago, it's cold reminder of how quickly time passes, the fire in which we all burn... top tune though.

Havn't seen the whole thing just yet but..but.

The single, most infuriating thing about watching Press conferences as I have been since they started broadcasting them (so..2009-10)..was the overwhelming need I have through-out to throttle the people people controlling the camera. (i.e. the Drew/Jason in control of things).

What's that? The entire focus is on the screen in the center? The auditorium and stage are dark? Quick! Cut the direct video feed and give me a wide shot of the stage, with the video playing on a screen and 3/4ths darkness!

And, it would seem, whoever is in charge of every single press conference ever put on..was in charge back in 2006. As seen in the "Lets compare the old racing games with the new". For which the "ok guys, wide shot of the video on stage, black screen!" makes perfect sense, you know, when your trying to go "please compare these two things."

So yah. I am sure this is known for much worse stuff but by god. Its clear that if this was going on a decade ago..they will never ever learn.

I feel like nothing has topped the year 2006 in terms of E3 (and console releases) popularity. So many internet memes came out of the Nintendo and Sony stuff happening that year. Youtube was also just a baby. So many memories. The PS4/Xbox One/Wii U releases seem so tame compared to the consoles previous.
