There's part of an creepy old abandoned mall hidden underneath a nearby multiplex. I bet it's where all the cool ghosts hang out.

I feel like I have been holding onto the idea of the movie theatre experience for longer than a lot of people but I went to see Rogue One on Friday night and the guy one over from me threw up multiple times into his drink cup and eventually onto the person in front of him and refused to leave the theatre even when a manager showed up to kick him out. so I say lets burn the whole thing down.

Always sit in the back row. The only theaters I'm willing to deal with these days are those with assigned seating.

I'm not "Anti-Denuvo" or whatever, but FYI Denuvo does use online activation servers from what I understand. This generally occurs in the background so you don't notice it, but the game might need to go online to reactivate after a hardware change or once every few days or weeks.

It is not 'always online' though.

I love the Bombcast! It's got a nice beat and it's easy to dance to!

Why do people immediately think 'ghost' whenever their senses are unreliable? Hallucinations are common, are not just visual, and anxiety doesn't help matters.

I'm with Rorie. I've been cutting my own hair for the past three or so years and while it was a challenge at first (I don't just use one number and go to town), when you get the hang of it, it's pretty awesome.

and um...so making new graphics on a game isn't adding anything to the game and is just an attempt to make you not notice the "game" is the same? Um....are not the graphics PART of the game? An update to them is worth the same as an update to any other part of the game....

I love watching rorie systematically remove items from his body to become more and more comfortable. I imagine that if you give him 2 days it'll just be Rorie in boxers.

re: that Nidhogg 2 email, it sounds like the person writing is running with the assumption that art and visuals are inherently less ... important? than the mechanics and gameplay - and at worst they are just a cover.

A sequel to a game generally must have updates to the gameplay in some fashion, but to dismiss the obviously incredible amount of work put into the new art betrays a deeply cynical view of games and creative endeavors in general.

Everytime Brad says that Dead Rising 4 feels more generic, I keep substituting in "Western", as in Western game devs.

I am disappointed that they are skipping PAX South again. San Antonio hosting a Royal Rumble that weekend was not enough. Some good old fashion coastal bias. Texas is not perfect but neither is any other state.

you mention the gamespot style of approaching games, and refer to it as "reviewing it like a book" by breaking down each of its properties. When people do that with books, I actually think of it as reviewing it like a video game. You see this a lot on goodreads and it's pretty infuriating.

You see a lot of 'graphics don't matter' sentiment in gaming, and appreciation of art over more 'substantive' pursuits is everywhere in society. The saying "all style, no substance" I think often discounts the effect that visuals can have on us.

Oddly we revere music as having emotional or substantive impact but we don't have a saying that says "it's just a vibration" or something shallow. Any kind of art has the ability to move us and doing it well requires a lot of skill and work, but we unfairly judge some over others. I have no love for poetry but I at least accept its value to others.

I also think that's why I don't care about 'games' so much as experiences that often resemble games, and why a game with a strong visual style interests me more than one with the best gameplay.

If something isn't fun, new not fun is better than replaying not fun.
