Quick Look: Dissidia: Final Fantasy

I'm one of the few who like Squall. Cloud is the the FF character, but Squall and FFVIII in general is still good.

This makes me want to get a PSP.

This looks pretty sweet.  The PSP is getting a good array of fighting games lately.

I picked up dissidia once. owwwwwwwww is all i can say.

lol, Brad doesn't seem to know the controls.

Also, you can unlock 12 more characters to play as in the versus mode, the villians from 1-10 and Shanatto from FFX! and Gabranth from FFXII.

No, 6 was 3 in North America. In the rest of the world it was just 6. It doesn't have anything to do with the SNES. "

love this game. can't wait to play it in eng as opposed to jap. but MAN was this QL painful to look at lol.

hit triangle to run up walls/'fly' from platform edge to platform. you'll know when you can interact with the env when you see those yellow triangles. just hit triangle then.

the equipment that you see before the fight is actually your opponents. when i first started playing i thought it was mine too, but eventually i figured out 'choosing' and item there does nothing at all.

umm, square attack in EX mode then square when the big square goes on screen to enter a quick time uber combo attack sequence (unique for most characters)

evil characters/secret characters have to be bought (along with alternate outfits and additional music etc.

and you can definitely fight purely in the air since you can dodge in the air indefinitely so you could attack, dash towards, dodge in air, attack, dodge in air, dash towards, attack, etc.

great game, definitely worth a look at from all psp owners imo.

This demonstration would have been so much better if the guy playing it actually knew how to play it, or indeed anything about the game in the first place. Like pressing Triangle to run up walls and ride the grinding lightbeams in Planet's Core, and of course the fact that the equipment screen where you "get to choose" what you wear is actually just showing you what the enemy is wearing, whereas you select your equipment on the main menu. Yeah. Research might have come in handy. Great look at the game though, just a shame that for some people their first look might put them off because of the inability of the tester to actually show off the game properly.

Except - it's not a demonstration, it's a quick look. And that's what I like about it, it shows the game from the 'newplayer' POV.

It would have been far superior to find out what each button did before recording, the lack of wall running and jumping made the game seem far worse than it is.

100% accurate. Especially in that last battle. Absolutely ridiculous. :P

X attacks damange brave, and increases yours. Square attacks do damage and if you hit somone who is in break it is pretty much an instante kill. Triangle does stuff liike wall runs. They are doing it wrong...

Wow this game looks like total shit, Its nothing but a button masher from the looks and god the art sucks! i freaking hate kingdom hearts teams artwork.

I love this game, I've been playing the Japanese version for a long time. It really isn't that hard if you just read the instructions...

Although some fights are painfully hard.

Well, it takes a couple of matches to get used to. But...the matches are really quick. You can do one if you're in the car, or sitting on the bus, or something.

My personal favorite character is Golboltz in the Japanese version.

O man the camera is so bad.... 3/4 the time you can't even see your own character let alone the enemy.. or the edge he was about to step off....

Complex games aren't really condusive to the Quick Look format unless the person hosting it knows the game in and out. A lot of people are probably put off of this game entirely now because Brad didn't really know what he was doing. I'm glad they did it, and it was entertaining while giving us a peek at the game, but as a video people may use to decide the quality of the game, it really didn't do it justice. Although, anyone who would decide whether or not to get a game by watching other people play it for 12 minutes might be kinda dumb...

so is this gona hav multiplayer? like via wi-fi?

I finished this game a while ago and I loved every second of it. Understanding japanese was a real bitch but yeh :P

Looked better than I thought it was going to be.
