Sure it's a war-torn area, but jesus christ, that's just bland as hell, and it bothered me with the first 2 gears games as well. I just don't like it when environments all look the same.

You clearly have not been paying attention. They've shown sequences with much wider color variety to combat this specific critique. Too bad the people criticizing it don't actually pay attention.

Really wish I could understand the appeal around these ultra hyped titles. I mean, yeah, it's a decent action game but the ultra hype around it is just /=

The movement is so. mind-numbingly. slow. I just can't adjust. This might have to be the first Gears I miss.

... Yup, still not for me. All that talk about making Gears more colorful... it certainly is MORE colorful, but that doesn't mean anything for Gears. A single plant would make it more colorful. And those bullet-sponge enemies I've never found very satisfying to shoot. If I believed in paying for online play, I might get it, as the multiplayer does seem valuable.

Looks like this will be pretty awesome for people that are into Gears. I am not one of those people.

I think its a safe bet this will never be on PC ... if MS had any intentions to carry the series over to the PC they would have released Gears 2 by now ... and Epic has a long trackrecord of being really whiny about piracy issues.

If you crave this sort of gameplay get SpaceMarine, it's a great PC port and a great game.

It certainly has more color variation than either Resistance 3 & Killzone 3. Both that are ridden with constant brown & grey. Atleast this game has a good artstyle to back it up. Nothing plain and dull as in the other 2.

It looks like all be spending allot of time in hordmode 2.0 .

Apparently you can unlock the Ice-T character by liking Gears 3 on Facebook and then they give you a code. That's how those guys online got him I assume.

I haven't signed up for Xbox Live for 3 years now, but this may change that.

Probably not. The last one didn't come out on PC.

One thing that bugs me about Gears is how large the bullets look coming out of your gun. I hate that effect. Uncharted does the same thing.

Gears 3 has more color variation? I wouldn't know, haven't seen the whole thing, but Gears 2 and 1 certainly didn't have more variety than either of the games you mentioned, not that either of them is Uncharted or Bulletstorm.

And I couldn't disagree more about this supposed "good artstyle." I think Gears might be the worst offender to "art style" this entire generation. Looks like what a 14 year-old would scribble in his Trapper Keeper. But I guess if you like meathead bro-fests, have at. I would say Resistance has pretty shitty art too.

The dust looks amazing when they jump out of the ground.. but beyond that... that is really stupid.

I just get the feeling Gears of war is an even dumber universe then warhammer 40k :o

Wow...I'm a pretty big Gears fan so I was already pretty excited about this. But this looks...amazing. Can't wait.

Gears is alright. Never really captured me but whatever. The thing I don't like about it is the art design. Too big and chunky even though they are not Call of Duty normal looking dude models. Just don't like the way it looks. I prefer the Helghast design in Killzone even though the ISA is probably even worse design then the COGs.

Bulletstorm is also using Unreal Engine. No i am talking about the Unreal engine in general it looks fantastic in this game. Are they in this quick look also 14 year olds for acknowledging the game looks damned beautiful? Too each his own. Uncharted was so over saturated to the point everything looked like a cartoon. Having color is a great thing over colored? is just as bad as a game thats overly grungy.

Killzone franchise is as colorless as the first 2 gears were. Its why i laugh every single time some Killzone fanboy goes on about the lack of color in Gears. Killzone was way worse and i played through them all. Well not the last one entirely. I had to stop on the snow level and sent it back to gamefly for being a borefest. Too much CoD alike.

Looking forward to this! It's funny watching the comments section though, I didn't know so many guys would be upset the color scheme of the game doesn't suit them. I didn't know the end of the world needed to look over saturated. Anyway, Gears 3. Awesome.

Looks good. I still have to finish Gears 2. I got about halfway then just kinda left.

Lots of depressing, everyone's screwed games this year.  First Resistance, now this.

I am aware that Bulletstorm uses the Unreal engine, which is why my comments were about Gears and not the engine. And you're the one who brought up Killzone, not me. I really dislike Killzone 3, almost as much as I dislike Gears 2, and it is one of the few games this generation I'm actually sad to have on my shelf.

I didn't hear the guys say that Gears has a good art style, like you did, but just that it "looks great," which I took from a technical perspective; good framerate, snappy movement, good graphics, etc. Though I think the textures are absolutely horrendous to look at, and question all the people who have told me that the 360 is capable of great texture work.

Had either of them said the art style was great, I absolutely would have mentioned my disagreement in the comments and probably used the same analogy of a fourteen year-old's Trapper Keeper. It doesn't mean I don't care about anything they say ever again; it just means I disagree about this one game.

Still don't think Gears has as much color variation as Resistance or Killzone, but I admit it's pretty damn close, at least for Resistance 3.

This made me just want to sleep until I have this game. Looks amazing.

So, who decided that the roadie run was STILL going to be cool in 2011? It looks silly as fuck, and being a runner myself, this is not very realistic running, even under a hailstorm of bullets.
