Oh wow, there's actually stuff to do now! I got this game in Early Access a long while back, played it for a little while, and never thought about it again because it was basically just a sandbox with no objectives. I'm definitely gonna have to check it out again though, this looks much meatier now (as it should be).

Was not expecting immediate Man or Astro-man? reference.

The reason why Dan is sick all the time is probably because he eats a lot of junk food. I'm no saint myself in that regard. I also eat really unhealthy but when I start to get a real bad sore throat for example I cut out all junk food and just eat soup, vegetables and other healthy stuff and it definitely seems to help me heal quicker.

I love Open World Vinny as much as anyone else, but man sometime it sucks when they just mess around a little too much rather than show off the game.

@zefpunk:That was kind of my problem with Persona 5 and their QL...they picked, probably, the worst part of the game to quicklook.

Vinny isn't building a fallout shelter and learning HAM radio for nothing. Everyone knows Dan is patient zero. Really looking forward to the division in real-life! Maybe we should call this apocalypse "The Walking Dan"? AWW YISS.

I really really like Vinny, as much as someone who consumes another person's content on a daily basis can. I think he is a real standup individual, but I absolutely couldn't play games with him. I'm all for having a little fun and being silly, but it can be hard to watch sometimes when they sacrifice showing the games off or progressing in a long playthrough just to indulge his silliness. And it's fine when the game calls for it, but a lot of the time, in this and other quick looks, in the Yakuza series (which I love and sincerely think it is a fun and well-made video series) it seems really forced and throws the whole vibe off. I'm sorry to keep harping on this, I really hate complaining about stuff. Oh and Vinny I really love you, I hope you don't read this and have a negative response to it. Just sharing my two cents.

This quick look rules. Really glad they got as silly as they did. I wonder if this game has enough depth for some sort of Kerbal-style goal-oriented future content. Probably not, but this video is one of my favorite quick looks, either way!

@zefpunk: But that's what this game is. It looked like their other option was find x or build y to get gold bricks to unlock bigger variants of the worlds. We didn't get to see what the first item is but considering they weren't even halfway there I think it would have been boring watching dan find cherrys to give to gingerbread men.

Bought this on PSN the other day primarily for my son to mess around with. Seems pretty great, but as you can see in the QL, it gets really quirky with certain controls just not responding occasionally, or tools not working right. So far I've found that getting into your spaceship and then jumping back out can often remedy some of these issues, but I've also had to quit out and reload the game a couple of times.

So yeah, very neat and lots of potential to mess around in a Minecrafty way once you're through the tutorial areas, but there is definitely some janky stuff to be aware of.

Man, ever since The Lego Movie, stretch-and-squish Lego animation doesn't do it for me. I need faux stop-motion.

I need to know what happens if you shoot a seagull with another seagull, among other various awful ideas. I don't know that I can hold a candle to Vinny/Dan's evil genius, but I'm pretty sure I could make some creatively dumb stuff in this game's sandbox. I....I might have to buy this.

Also, that ending had me in tears. @turboman basically everything after 41:41.

Oh my God, when this game was first released on early access, it was around the same time Lego Dimensions or whatever came out, and Dimensions completely overshadowed this, I tried so hard to get GBWest to play it on UPF or an Unfinished, but it all landed on deaf ears.

The reason I tried so hard is because I consider all the other Lego games to be generic trash, they've got nothing to do with Lego bricks! It's just bad mixed marketing. Here you actually build and shape the world! It's what Legos are all about! It's the only Lego game that ever got me excited, and seeing it overshadowed in 2015 by Dimensions was laaaaame! On the other hand, it was totally worth it seeing how you can basically hear Vinny's growing excitement as he sees how much you can do.

Glad to see this looked at. I was thinking but about getting it for the 5 year old but the combination of jank and complexity makes me second think that.

I wonder if you can play on the same level online from different platforms.
