Quick Look: Tekken 7

Might pick this up on the cheap for its story stuff. Slotting Akuma into the Tekken universe as seamlessly as they seem to have still makes my jaw drop.

I really wish you guys would not release these types of videos for games before it is out so people can judge the online/servers.

Very strange request

Strange but in 2017 or around the 2010s we really saw an influx of more in your face OMG news to keep up with the times. As a kid i used to hate when my mom or dad watched news like it was some information dump for the day and thought i would never enjoy that. Now the news is like a MEME dump for the day with headline click bait names and excited anchors with personalities who push buttons or an approval for some political group. Of course stuff was always like that but with our new president things seemed to jump to a more reality tv type thing of what happen today "THIS IS CRAZY look! The president made a face and said he hates ___" instead of a dry "this week will be the president visiting etc." Just thinking about stuff outloud dont hate or dislike the change but understand why the ingame news read would seem dry to people today.

This might be weird but I really love all of the, like, legacy animations that Tekken has retained over the years. Characters like Paul and Nina and Heihachi and Lee Chaolan who have been in the series since near the beginning still have a lot of robotic-looking attacks because, you know, early 3D. I like that.

Gonna (finally) pick up a PS4 after E3 just in case they announce a price drop or whatever and I'm pretty stoked to pick up Tekken 7 along with it. Would get it on PC, but I don't have a lot of faith in its online lifespan.

So many games come out great these days that id have to be really nitpicky to find a reason not to buy them but if you really can find a reason to dislike this game can you explain.IMO So much hard work is put into these AAA games. Also Really intrigued when Jeff seems so excited about a game he usually seems exhausted with playing so many titles each week. I think he enjoys fighters thou and this looks like a really good one. Wish he would play that Boruto game just to seem him react to how over the top the story is when it skips filler and just runs with it. There reaction to One piece luffy just punching guys and eating meat in a quick look had me cracking up since they had no idea how simple that character was ha.

Tekken has ALWAYS been super anime-y.

I feel like there's a difference between something like Street Fighter or Guilty Gear on one side and stuff like Yakuza and Tekken on the other. I'd say the first two are anime-like. The latter two are live-action stuff from Japan-like, if that makes any sense. J-dramas and the sort. Not exactly grounded, but not the same either.

Or you can just follow up any number of places, including on this site where it will come up.

How so? How many fighting games have been utterly broken in the past on launch? Street Fighter 5 and Mortal Kombat X instantly come to mind. Not to mention how the online actually feels when more than a very exclusive number of people have access to the servers.

I dunno dude while he was a secret character Devil Kazuya already appeared in the first game and the antagonist of the third game was the Aztec God of Fighting that absorbs souls of badass fighters to increase it`s power. If that`s not an anime ass anime bad guy I don`t know what is.

It`s not full on anime all the time, but when it goes anime it goes all the way.

If it doesn't look like an anime graphics wise, it is not considering anime for a lot of people even if it is goofy as hell. It's the same defense Metal Gear solid franchise gets which is anime as fuck.

Just started my pre-load on Steam. Jacked for this game, especially after SF5 started collecting dust.

Thanks for asking. Well, as a person who's been away since Dark Resurrection on the PS3, I've been interested in a lot more than just the online. In fact, I'll probably never play the video game online. What I've always liked about Tekken are the characters, weird game modes, and strangely enough, the story. I've always felt they did a good job making new characters as well, and I wish they had spent more time showing them off. As a potential buyer with some theoretical excitement about the product, I want them to look at a game like this as soon as they have it.

Compared to Injustice 2 this game looks like a mobile game I guess that is because it isn't really a 2017 game since it has been delayed so much but I hope they step up their game the next Tekken because this just looks so cheap in comparison.

As much of a tekken fan as i was in the past, i just haven't been able to get into any of the newer games since 5. It really just looks like more tekken, although story mode seems pretty cool.

That hip mall version of akuma is just screaming for a cross promotion with Splatoon! squidling Akuma ftw

I love Tekken, and this seems like great Tekken. Hopefully it grabs me as much as 2, 3, Tag, and 5 did.

Oh cool, this has a ranking mode with cosmetic unlocks. That got me really deep into Virtua Fighter 4, pretty much the only fighting game i got pretty invested in. Those modes are always great!

I like Jason making quantum leap references and Jeff and Ben ignoring him.

I can confirm that this game looks really nice on a PC. Runs great on a GTX 1060, too. Everything on Ultra at 1680:1050 with 150% resolution scaling.

Upon reflection, considering the Devil and Ogre stuff, a guest appearance from a literal anime dinosaur and how Claudio is just Ishida from Bleach, I take back what I said. Tekken is pretty anime.

Lucky Chloe is new. Not a fan favorite, in the case of SOME people, but Harada likes her and that's what's important.

It's funny that Ben should mention that Shaheen is a very handsome man. Was it an intentional reference to Omar Borkan whom he seems to be modeled off? He claims to have been banned from Saudi Arabia for being "Too Handsome"

I like Tekken, but not as much as other fighting games. As someone who isn't really good, it's always felt comparatively (a bit) stiff and unresponsive because of how the combos work. This is a great Tekken game though and runs great on PC.

Also when Jason said "2D is all you need" I hope he was referring to anime girls.
