@steveurkel: Because Bungie learned from SE and Activision that PC gamers will likely double dip.

I'm not going to play the beta I'll just wait for it to come out. I learned that lesson with Destiny 1.

Destiny 2 is Destiny too

You know what this game desperately needs? The ability to manually sort your inventory. Constantly jumping into menus during firefights in the first game always took longer than it needed to because I had to figure out where it auto-sorted my ammo synth based on the last time I used it.

Despite that, though, I am looking forward to "more Destiny."

game gets a lot of crap but the content is fun and engaging and it has one of the most positive non toxic communitys in games.

@koolgoodmiracle: well as long you aren't stuck with playing with randos in a raid. Outside of that yeah, I've met some cool people on it.

Yay, twenty more hours of me trying to figure out light levels and five hundred goddamn in-game currencies.

Destiny is a great game buried in mountains of bullshit. What I need from this game is not a totally new gameplay experience but a reinvention of the mechanics surrounding it. Hopefully Bungie is actually doing that, because so far this looks promising.

That said, the writing is pretty cringe-worthy.

I used my white PS4 more than I played Destiny. I don't know if I'll get the White Pro for this, but let me check out this video.

Hunter in 2 is kind of bad IMO, cause the character ability is useless compared to the Titan and Warlock, which work in tandem really well. Though Voidwalker in 2 (at least in this beta) kind of sucks.

Haven't played, but is there still only 1 emote slot? That's insane for a game with Destiny's ambitions.

Buying basic emotes like clapping, crying or cheering (sure paid dancing emotes I can understand) and only restricted to 1 at a time really limited player interactions in the first game. Upon hearing the emotes not carrying over, I had hopes that bungie would revamp that system.

This also looks like it would be super easy when you can aim with a mouse.

That PVP map looks like garbage.

Destiny 1 benefited strongly from a few DLC iterations and there are things about it that are really good like moment to moment game play. I have enjoyed it but not without ups and down.

This game looks like it could have been a large update to the original Destiny instead of it being a full sequel. But that's a good thing for me, because I liked D1.

Need to try this on the PC with 60 FPS and better visuals.

Is the engine updated or is this just a new pack of content?

Maybe I should ask for more, but I'll be totally fine with even an average sci-fi action story, if it keeps up the opening mission's structure with a couple of gameplay twists here and there, telling you the story through in-game methods and gives me a proper ending after 8-10 hours (I'd take more, but trying to stay reasonable) campaign. Even better if there'd be more of that in the DLCs.

I'll play the Strikes and other PvE content too, but I really want a story to go through as well.

I think when people say it feels different they mean the Aim Assist isn't nearly as strong/noticeable in this as compared to Destiny 1. Not as sticky as D1 is.

The music seems a lot more pronounced here. Don't remember any moments in all of Destiny 1 when the music amped up and contributed to the feel of an encounter.

Great lookin effects and lighting too. Everything else looks more, I dunno, smooth.

Villain seems like a good antagonist.

e: oh no, don't have high hopes. That's what happened the first time around.

Ben: esports pros actually use very low DPI and in-game sensitivity. 400 DPI is more or less standard.

Man, I must be getting old or something - but if this looks this good on PS4 (pro) I can't wait to play this on my PC. Some of those particle effects and the lighting look stunning. Also, the gun play again, looks terrifically tight as per usual Bungie games.

@theht: IDK, the I felt the Taken King had some pretty sweet tunes. Foreboding electro-stuff and such.

Destiny's core gameplay is just so good. Nobody makes shooting as fun as Bungie.

And I thought Diablo 3 got unbridled hate when it first came out.

I also imagine Destiny 2 on PC will be a bit weird. This seems a 30fps through and through in a really weird way. Sure it looks damn good though.

Brad getting unironically excited about additional loading screen customizations is just about the most Destiny thing.

I ended up really not liking the first Destiny, and it soured me on Bungie, after absolutely loving them for their work on Halo. But watching this... I'm totally going to play Destiny 2. Damn you, Bungie, you better not fool me again!

In a way I'm kind of glad this is coming out on console first. Let people be guinea pigs for a month and let me know if its even worth getting for PC or not. At first glance, it looks like just more Destiny and that multiplayer is looking really dry.

Man, there are so many things right with destiny 1 as it stands and so many things wrong at the same time. And let's not even talk about the story in D1 since it was only half implemented at launch (I say "implemented" and not "finished" because there were phisical places in the game that you could glitch yourself into, places that ended up being in later DLCs which means they were already in the works, AT LAUNCH. They were just rushed), this seems like the D2 that D1 should have been from the start, let's just wait and see how much they decide to cater to the hardcore (which D1, originally, did and then later did not as much) vs to just pandering to the casual games to boost sales. Let's hope they find a happy medium since they actually have a story this time.

@koolgoodmiracle: That last part is very important to me and if that is also going to be true for the PC version I will give it a shot.

The DLC/timed access practices in Destiny 1 were a real turn off for me so this is probably going to be one of those love/hate relationships.
