@ripelivejam: I think he honestly just has a better memory than everyone else. For instance, I've heard Rorie say he won his Sega Saturn in a contest probably at least five separate times (I think all on UPFs), and everytime Jeff/Brad/whoever always respond like they never heard it before. Not to mention Dan forgetting that The Witcher 3 came out last year on today's Beastcast...Drew always seems to remember that kind of stuff, but it probably doesn't hurt that he edits half of the content.

Rorie, as usual, is spreading misinformation about Rifftrax. Mike, Kevin, and Bill have written their riffs together, in the same room, with a talented staff of young writers (I think 2 or 3 other writers making their staff around 6 writers on every riff they do) for over 5 years now. Any information Rorie seems to spread about it is based on how Rifftrax was 10 years ago. Not Rifftrax now. So I would recommend not taking anything he says about it as fact. It's untrue because his opinion is outdated.

They recently did a reunion show with most all of the cast (new and old) of MST3K. Their kickstarter this year (they do one every year) raised over $600k (that's 3 times as much as they usually raise).

You're obviously allowed to not like something, but stop throwing in that they don't even write in the same room or have too few writers on their riffs. It's not true and based on how they did things when the site first started 10 years ago. That's not how they do things now, and not how they have done things for several years at this point.

Hopefully this is not misconstrued. I'm not trying to be "mean" to Rorie. I just wish he'd update his information on a topic if he's going to throw in stuff that he thinks is a fact, when it's not because it's old information. If that makes sense. I apologize if this is misconstrued as me being "mean." That's not my intent.

Kind of boring without Dan. Jason's game was lame.

Edit: Good job Danny turned up.

Thanks always Jeff!

Rorie I love your love for Mexico but you were rolling your L's in Villarta. Hahaha

All you need for Mexico Rorie is "Dos Chichonas y Dos Cervesas". It means two big chested women and two beers.

I was playing Goldeneye: Source and then I ended up finding Drew in my game, which in turn reminded me I was missing UPF. What a small world!

Before watching, I had assumed the "Buh-duh BA DAAAA" in the video description was a Legend of Zelda "Link got an item" sound... and now I'm begining to wonder if it uses the same notes as those James Bond stingers.

So, for the record, the "they all write in different locations" thing was expressly told to me by Mike and the other main dudes when they visited IGN when I was working at GameSpy in 2013. I don't know if they've updated their process since then, and I certainly apologize if that is the case. But it was definitely less than five years since I was told in no uncertain terms that all of the writers were working separately from each other.

Regardless, I have never found the best of the Rifftrax stuff to be as good as any of the best of the MST3K stuff in the last few seasons that it was working under Mike et al.

@rorie: Hmm... Interesting. The videos they do, or maybe have done (occasionally they put Rifftrax behind the scenes stuff or skits on youtube), seemed to suggest otherwise. Maybe it's only some riffs they write together or something- I don't know anymore.

I understand your point of view on this, though. That's fair enough. I apologize for not understanding where you were coming from on that.

In EDF, when I fly over a huge group of bugs and shoot an explosive shot into the middle of all of them, I get a similar satisfaction to that of splash damage from a Quake rocket launcher.

A little funny to hear them lambast Flash when you need Flash to watch any livestream on here... In fact, said livestreams and their Flash requirement have caused me a number of issues over the couple of years I've been here.

I definitely know what Jeff is talking about when it comes to Quake 3 chatting. I only ever played Q3 once, but I played countless hours of Jedi Academy, which is on the Q3 engine. Any clan server in the MP of Jedi Academy is essentially a chat room; or at least that's how it was when I played 8-10 years ago (holy fuck it's been *that* long??). Going into one and openly killing people without first engaging in a verbal agreement to fight was pretty much universally frowned upon. People who did that were almost always kicked. I'm not judging this negatively, by the way, since I was absolutely part of the chatters in this scenario.
