Karin was in Capcom Fighting Jam (aka Capcom Fighting Evolution in the US) in 2004, so not quite 17 years ago.

Sakura confirmed! Sakura and Karin have this huge rivalry in the other games so they are most likely going to have Sakura return as well. =D

Man, this just keeps getting better. I was hoping for Karin since V was announced. Hopefully this doesn't mean Sakura comes in a later DLC. Either way, nice to know I've got a main lined up.

I dig the new costume. Evocative of the Alpha one, and yet has a regal and grown-up air to it.

SFV is shooting to the top of my most anticipated games. So fucking hype, it's ridiculous.

So according to rumors Alex, Urien and 2 new characters left? Its nice they are bringing back everyone who missed sf 4.

The only inclusion that's confusing is Vega, shoulda put in Juri for some token sf4 representation.

Definitely the most fun looking character that's been revealed so far. I really hope the rest of the roster starts to stack up, even if I guess this means Alex won't be in the game.

My favorite SF character, at long last! This is exciting; SF5 is looking like a pretty definite get at this point. The only way to top this would be a surprise "we bought the rights from Arika, here's Skullomania" reveal.

This was the best possible decision. I don't even care about the rest of the character announcements now. I'm sure the new characters will be awesome, but as for returning characters, fuck 'em. Especially if I just spent 6 years playing them in SF4.

@paulunga: not gonna happen, whats left now are 2 new characters and 2 chars you'd expect in any SF game. Thats not speculation btw it's been confirmed by Capcom. Still might see Ingrid and others in DLC tho.

Her animations remind me of Yun. I'm not that familiar with the Alpha games, how exactly does she play? If someone could explain to me in non-Alpha character terms, i'd appreciate it.

@dan_citi: They don't. Ingrid is and has always been a terrible character. She's is not even a true SFA character. She's from Capcom Fighting Jam / Capcom Fighting Evolution and was ported to the later PSP port of SFA3 called Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX / Street Fighter Zero 3 Double Upper.

@chillicothe: The chances of them releasing some kind of "classic costumes DLC pack" for a bunch of these characters is extremely high anyway.

@hassun: She's one of Ono's favorites and top 5 on the japanese char ranking. I was sure she would be a boss char in SF5 since Bison was unveiled with gray hair but I guess not.

Plus it's on PC. Have you seen the kind of SFW stuff they've done over there? It's fascinating.

@bson: With R.Mika and Karin making it onto the roster Ono and Japan already got their #1 favourite/most requested characters. Let's hope they can live with that.

@chillicothe: I wonder if they are going to get more strict when it comes to modding. With cross-play and the Capcom Fighting Network they might have to.

Then again maybe they'll leave client-side visual mods alone.

You know, Sakura would always comment after a win in SFIV about how she got an invitation to Karin's party. Since this game is set before SFIV then I would hope Karin would mention needing to get an invitation in the mail addressed to Sakura.

As a side note, I wrote a 12 page fan fic detailing the decor and refreshments served at the party.

This game's graphics consistently impress me. Definitely getting excited about it!

Whatever theme they have playing in the background is pretty great.

Internet has me so over-sensitised nowadays I paused with her "devide in our class" line. Reading too much into things, as some people tend to do. Cool character!

Been waiting for Karin's return for so long. I'm so happy right now.
