These spooky entities are the spirits of the dead, returned from beyond their graves for generally sinister purposes. There's generally about even odds whether a particular ghost will be helpful or malevolent towards the living, but some ghosts just want to be left alone entirely.
Ghouls are carrion eating undead creatures that dwell in graveyards and other lonely places. The stench of death surrounds these vile abominations wherever they go. Some Ghouls have been known to paralyse their victims with their manky claws.
The term 'gypsy' typically refers to exotic people who live a nomadic lifestyle travelling while selling and trading goods. The official name for the real-life ethnic group is "Romani", with many of that group considering the word "Gypsy" offensive.
A living being who is the product of the reproductive mating of two different species.
A night of ghost, ghouls, costumes, and candy. Some video games are based around this holiday, while others simply pay it respect with special levels or characters that embody the spirit of All Hallows' Eve.
Whether a character never ages or is invincible, immortality represents the inability to die. Sometimes this is a blessing, sometimes it is a curse. Either way it usually makes for an interesting game mechanic.
Some games have features or elements that can be affected by the phase of the game world's lunar cycle. Enemies may be stronger or encounters may become more frequent. The following are some of those games.
