    Career at Capcom

Hirabayashi joined Capcom in 2001, with his first assigned project being the Resident Evil remake in 2002 as a designer and character modeller; the model of the Forest Speyer zombie was designed by Hirabayashi. He likewise worked on character models in Resident Evil Zero, but also worked on the game's cutscenes at that. For Resident Evil 4 Hirabayashi was still working on cinematics, but was now the lead.

Come Operation Raccoon City and Resident Evil 6 he was situated into an all-encompassing Producer role, and was one of the many faces in marketing Resident Evil 6 in particular alongside its director, Eiichiro Sasaki.

Hirabayashi was eventually able to return to his roots as it were, when it came time to working on the 2015 Remastering of the Resident Evil remake. He then later announced the remastering of Resident Evil Zero, as well the announcement of a long-awaited remake for Resident Evil 2.

    Trivia

    • The first Resident Evil game he had played himself was Resident Evil 2 during college.
    • Yoshiaki Hirabayashi was the one who first brought up the idea of adding in quick time events in Resident Evil 4.
