The very concept of that game is way over my head so i'll stick with minecraft. I can handle block building, that's about it.

Fully functioning CPU sounds cool, but I'm really not looking forward to writing anything in an assembly language.

Neither am I. Although it probably won't be too long until someone writes something that will translate C/Java/Python/Lua/Brainf*ck into DCPU-16.

It seems strange for Notch to go from one of the most accessible games ever to something that requires a computer science degree to understand the gameplay. Though ideally, I can just wait two years and steal everyone's scripts and programs.

@MikkaQ: As a CS Major, it's cool for me, but I completely understand how that would turn people off.

I've only just started trying to learn C. I don't have time to become a fucking ASM programmer as well!

Wow, that is crazy. But I kinda expected something totally crazy from Notch after Minecraft - people used those simple tools Minecraft had to create a CPU in the game.

I highly doubt Notch is creating a game with a market of 4. From what I understand, it's a resource management game.

Since I'm a computer science major I really am excited for this game, but I agree I am not looking forward to any sort of assembly programming.

Yeah I'm a cs major too but I only took a couple classes that had some very basic versions of Intels x86 instruction set, although the DCPU-16 seems to be even simpler than that.

...uh.. This seems very complicated. I understand that the more complicated it is, the more stuff we're going to be able to do, but isn't this all a bit much? I hope they eventually change the controls of the ship to very basic script like "/start eng. 1-4" or something like that.
