Apparently pronounced "To the C", 0x10c is a shelved space sandbox game set in the year 281,474,976,712,644 in an alternate reality. Players would have been tasked with maintaining their spacecraft, exploring the universe and landing on alien worlds.
It seems strange for Notch to go from one of the most accessible games ever to something that requires a computer science degree to understand the gameplay. Though ideally, I can just wait two years and steal everyone's scripts and programs.
Wow, that is crazy. But I kinda expected something totally crazy from Notch after Minecraft - people used those simple tools Minecraft had to create a CPU in the game.
Yeah I'm a cs major too but I only took a couple classes that had some very basic versions of Intels x86 instruction set, although the DCPU-16 seems to be even simpler than that.
...uh.. This seems very complicated. I understand that the more complicated it is, the more stuff we're going to be able to do, but isn't this all a bit much? I hope they eventually change the controls of the ship to very basic script like "/start eng. 1-4" or something like that.
