Probably the best news of the summer thus far. Personally, I loved Alan Wake and cannot wait to see a sequel. Hopefully they won't decide to launch it next to a Rockstar Game this time. Red Dead Redemption completely sucked all the air out of the room. Source via OXM.UK

The sequel to Remedy's warmly received Stephen King 'em up Alan Wake has popped up on a character animator's LinkedIn profile. It's not official confirmation, but it's something to go on.

The animator in question is Althea Suarez Gata, who apparently created an in-game cinematic for Alan Wake 2 while working at Halon Entertainment this year.

    How is it "possibly"?

That's pretty cut and dry. People don't lie on their resumes.

I mean, it's LinedIn but whatever.

Yeah, I was debating the title for awhile. Cautiously optimistic, I suppose.

Awesome news. Maybe they'll do something closer to their original open world idea.

Cut down on combat and replace with some other type of engaging gameplay and I'm there.

I hope this time around the story matches up to the combat. I did like that first one though.

Just because they haven't officially confirmed Alan Wake 2, I'd pretty much expect a sequel, so seeing news that it's confirmed doesn't surprise me. Last year Alan Wake was one of the top five games I had played.

Nice. If they make the combat fun and the other aspects remain at at least the same level as in the original it'll be a masterpiece.

@Jonny7892:@Leakster: It's because when they decided to go Xbox only Remedy said that they thought playing from a couch (as opposed to in front of your computer) would be the ideal way to play. I would be ecstatic if they put it on PC though - I wouldn't be surprised, since they've said they really regretted their decision to go Xbox exclusive.

When was the last time a Microsoft published game made it to the PC? Halo 2? One of the Gears games? It seems like they've given up on PC since Games for Windows Live failed and they realized that they have no control over the platform.

Good - Alan Wake was a pretty solid game. The story, while not the best, had potential and it would be good to see the trials and tribulations of Mr. Wake resolved. Alan Wake 1 ended on a pretty annoying cliff hanger (even with the DLC), and if they have a chance to FINISH the story in Alan Wake 2, then I'll be happy.
