Epic Mickey Collector's Edition Is Pretty Messy

A snazzy, paint-splashed limited-release collector's edition of Disney Epic Mickey is expected to launch alongside the plain-Jane boxed copy of the game when it hits this winter, according to Disney Interactive Studios. 

The $70 bundle will include your usual collector's edition stuff: a behind-the-scenes DVD, a five-inch vinyl figure of the game's protagonist (Mickey Mouse), a copy of the game, and other video promotional materials. Notably, it will also include a Wii remote skin and a two unique Wii console skins. The latter stuff is cute because, in the game, you'll be able to "skin" or change the world with your paint. It's a tie-in!

This is pretty much the only reason that I want a Wii. Maybe it's worth it.

What's the point on this? I've grown accustomed to getting some useless plastic stuff on these editions so I'm at a loss when we only get skins.

He just doesn't really look like himself.

I like the design of the cases and everything, don't know if I'll like the actual game.

I do like Bonus Discs (even though I am often let down by them) and I do like Warren Spector. Hmmm.

I thought I remembered hearing at E3 during the on-stage demo that this was a game releasing in the summer of 2011?  I won't get to it until around then anyway, considering I have to get another Wii after selling mine a few years ago.  Thanks to Kirby, DK, this, and Zelda - I'm back in.  But I still care ten times more about the 3DS than the Wii, even with a decent slew of titles.

We all know that the first site to post an article is, by default, the only one that can.  Everyone after that is just copying.  Or, you know, some of us think Kotaku is crap and like to read our news elsewhere.
 
Re: the topic at hand, I'm looking forward to the game, but the CE doesn't do much for me.

I'd need an official Epic Mickey car hood and matching bicep tattoo to consider it.

I'll just buy the normal game though. I've never bought a collector's edition.

Why bother commenting? Regardless of who breaks the news first (not always Kotaku) every other site will post some form of coverage on the subject, even if it's pretty "common knowledge" elsewhere.   Some people don't like the hostile atmosphere that is accustom to sites like Kotaku and thus, don't visit them. That isn't to say that assholes aren't here either. Some people prefer to come here because it's more humorous and/or less serious. I don't go on Destructoid because I'm sick of Jim Sterling spewing his nonsense. Somehow he is their review editor, thus I don't take any review they write as an informed one.   I'm sure other people have their reasons for not going on one site or another. "

If I had a dime for every time I have read this exact sentence, I would have enough money to actually buy all of the Wii games I want.

I hope this game is as good as it looks, this might be a game to actually get the collectors edition especially since its not a whole $50 more like a lot of collectors editions now.

Even though I don't usually get limited editions, all this needed was a soundtrack disc and I would be sold. Why wouldn't they bundle the soundtrack?
