Get Fat This Week

Fat Princess gets a release date, and that release date is only a few days away.

Like Team Fortress 2 with a different camera and more cakes.

Sony has announced release and pricing details for Fat Princess, the Titan Studios-developed, class-based, team-based, and cake-based game for the PlayStation Network. The game will be released this Thursday, July 30. It will cost $14.99. Fat Princess will see a simultaneous release in North America, Europe, and Asia. A Japanese release is also in the works, but will happen at a later date.

Also, this Thursday is the last Thursday in July, which means that Trine should be released on PSN this week, too, right? At least, that's what the last word from the game's publisher said.

Anyone else get the impression that Sony is counter-programming against Microsoft's Summer of Arcade promotion? With last week bringing Shatter and add-ons for Wipeout HD and Killzone 2 and this week bringing Fat Princess and potentially Trine, PSN is most definitely not messing around.

i was planning on buying trine, but this thursday just got a lot better with this announcement. i've been wanting fp for a looong time.

15$?  Damn that seems a bit high for a PSN game.  Doesnt it only have like 4 boards?

Actually $15 is the norm for PSN games from the start. There are a bunch more PSN exclusive games in the $20-$40 range than the sub-$6 range. Or atleast, the ones that are worth a damn in my mind.

$15 is a great price for Fat Princess! They could have easily pushed $20 for the game. It has a ton of content in it, character customization and since its online theres tons of replay value. I've been psyched for this game since it was announced! Finally!!

And yeah, Sony sure isn't messing around. Sorta makes you wonder if they caused Fat Princess to purposly delay in order to beef up their summer end game. Realistically the game has been finished and was set to release in early june but was delayed for unknown reasons. Makes sense! Either way. $20 sitting on my account ready to get this baby~!

Man-o-man, been waitin' for Fat Princess for like ever!!!... but now, I don't think I have time these days with all the other games in my life. 

Sony may have lost a sale from me (for the time being) because they took too damn long releasing this :p

I agree.  This is what I love PSN for.  It has a ton of exclusive weird games that you just cannot get anywhere else.

This summer is such a fucking great time for downloadable titles.

Last week I bought 'Splosion Man and Shatter, this week i'll be getting Fat Princess and Trine (if it releases) and then in a few weeks time I can round the summer off with Shadow Complex.....BRILLIANT!!
(also there's MvC2 and Turtles if you like your remakes).

I hope publishers/devs use the Summer drought to launch it's best downloadable titles every year!

how come this game ain't bein advertised and its commin out in a few days? they put up like 2 Fat Princess videos on PSN at E3 and thats it. no ads anywhere, nothin. not even in Home, their own fackin commercial outlet. is Fat Princess even in that Pulse show that Sony does? i doubt it. nobody is gonna know this game came out and the developers are gonna be all

This game has had quite a large following since it was first shown.  I imagine that it will do quite well, and unless there is a huge mess with too few servers at release that turns people off, some DLC would be in the future.  This game could use a map creator as well, to really give it some legs.

These games are starting to back up, I'm still barely into BF 1943, I haven't got 'splosion Man yet, Fat is a no-brainer to get, Shatter is looking good, I'm waiting for the cheaper Trine on PSN, and Shadow Complex is a must-buy.  The cool part is, add all those up and it's about the price of a new game.
