Here's Exactly What Max Payne 3 Looks Like

This is not Max Payne, as far as I'm concerned. No Remedy..check! Different writer..check! I'm sorry, but you can plaster the name all over the game as much as you want, but that doesn't make it Max Payne. I'm not saying this will be a bad game, in fact I'll be quite shocked if it's anything worse than good, given the Rockstar track record, but it could easily be named something else. Obviously the MP name is profitable, so we see the justification in that. I'm just going to pretend I never saw this, like it was prior to seeing this thread. Max Payne only has one sequel, and that's how it will remain in my world.

I continue to be partially excited for this.

This is great. I was getting tired of all those atmospheric noir shooters. A macho bald man shooting foreigners is just the refreshing change we need.

It seems like they are completely changing the gameplay, the art style, the look of the character, the environment....  probably no mafia... and nobody can write that "ham-handed" (as brad would say) story line quite like remedy.  Is he not going to be smelling stinky cheese??  How can they remove him from the tragedy of losing his wife when thats so central to the character?  So whats left of Max Payne??  I'm sad.  Maybe i'll play the first two games again and mourn the loss.

I've seen these screenshots a while ago so they can't be new.  I don't like the new art style or the fact that Max looks like a bum.

Oh comon you guys... Noir New York in a snow storm and a leather Jacket does not a Max Payne make, just look at the movie version! I think they could take the Noir style into the daylight... The blistering sun constantly shining in your eyes can be just as depressing as the blackest night. 
I'm more worried about: 
A) Cover based shooting (WHY GOD WHY?!)  
B) Not the same voice actor for Max (could work out okay though) 

but..but... where is the snowstorm?, where... wheres the jacket? where is the darkness? WHAT THE FUCK HAVE THEY DONE????

Yes his look is very disappointing. It's a good thing when they try new things with games, but he doesn't look like Max and nor does the environment, these images simply don't feel like Max Payne at all, and with their major screw up with GTA 4 (it's a great game, but compared to the 3 before it was imo a major screw up), I really don't know if the gameplay will feel like Max Payne either.
Imo if you don't want to make it anything like the first 2, then just don't call it Max Payne.

New York City during a snowstorm was as much a character as Max. I'm preemptively labeling this game is an abomination!

At first I liked the new look... but now, thinking about it...
he's missing his "character" The Black Leather Jacket.
Hopefully there will be at least one level in the game where
he puts it on...
That would make a climactic last level even more ...climactic.

Right now I do not like the new look for Max Payne.  I'm sure I will get used to it, it just rubs me the wrong way right now.  Other than that, I absolutely can not wait for this game.  The first two Max Payne games were two of my favorite game of the last generation and Max Payne 3 is near the top of my list of most anticipated future releases.

I know alot of people were complaining about the color palette of L4D2 being too light and I thought they were just being nit picky, but this really doesn't have me jumping for joy. How many people would recognize this game if not for the name Max Payne? It's like they were developing another game altogether and then thought more people would buy it if they slapped the name on top. Yes maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit before seeing any actual footage, but come on rockstar, what are you doing to my film noir shooter?

the screenshots dont capture the grim feel of the last two games but unless they are bull shots, they do look very pretty

Im just pissed they dont have James McCaffrey doing his voice, and does anyone know if Sam Lake has anything to do with the script?

Yeah those screenshots reminded me of Uncharted, especially the way max is leaning up against cover, and everything else. The enviroment, the enemies. Uncharted-esque for sure in the art style but nothing can be for sure until more is said about the game. Regardless, im still pumped for Max Payne 3.

Hey! It's like Max Payne but not at all! Isn't it what we always wanted? All that innovative at the time but not now gameplay but without all that style and caring about the story nonsence! This is just awesome!

The fact that it's bright and sun is shining goes way way to wrong direction. I had accepted that Max would be old but this seems like something I can't look past.
And the game is not Remedy game. Think I'm gonna pass and wait for Alan Wake.

Call it something else and it will look interesting, but throw Max Payne on there and this is not what one who loved the franchise would expect, or want really.

Max Payne was all about it's atmosphere. This on the other hand looks light and clean.

the game looks... clean? I was expecting a grimy, dark, dirty game world and setting because that's basically what Max Payne is. Now he looks like bloody sam fisher on holiday in the bahamas, just chillin, wearing a singlet around....

Not a big fan of the new look but I'll still play it because I'm such a big fan of the first two.  He looks too much like Torque from those Suffering games.

I have to say that I'm not really a fan of this new direction...I don't see the reason for calling this a Max Payne game, besides the name recognition of course. It looks like 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand starring an older, slightly chubby white guy. If there is a skull somewhere in this game I would not be surprised! :P ...but I really am worried about this game. Max Payne was my second favorite R* franchise because of it's style, tone, and gameplay...but this just doesn't feel right. I guess I can't really make an opinion until I actually see some videos of the game in action, but I'm not expecting much right now.

WTF is this? Cross between Uncharted and Just Cause or something? That's how the follow up to cult noir gangster action is suppose to look like? Well, at least we still have Alan Wake to look forward to.

I really liked the style of the original Max Payne's so this direction kinda bums me out.

i agree with the nay sayers..nay i say! NAY!  I don't mind the old grumpy bastard look of Max Payne himself, it's just a matter of the environments that don't really have what i want from the MP story and feel.

Yawn, looks like the abortion of an orgie of 3 other upincoming games.
