The Danger of Nostalgia

Just sharing a little bit of fun I ran across today. I'm not familiar with the French artist Danger, but apparently he is promoting the release of his new album "9/17 2007" with some fake video game scenes inspired by the 16-bit era. Personally, I have to say it's working, as you can consider me promoted.

These tunes aren't half bad though, got a pretty aweosme retro-game vibe to them.

I have both of his EPs and 9/14 2007 is an awesome, wasn't a huge fam of 9/16 2007 but it was still pretty good.

Damn the first video is greeaat. Car slowly comes in to view, bass starts bumping, awesome.

Might listen to more electronica if they had videos like this...

I love Parallax scrolling like in the second clip.  I don't know what it is about it, but it always makes such an awesome impression.
 
That said, I liked the music in the first one better.  I'll prolly end up checking this out.  Great tip, Vinny.

Loved both his earlier EPs, and I am so getting this one. Danger is awesome.

I would totally play that game.  I like how he worked in the sound effects from NARC at the end of the first vid, since that's what the image reminded me of.

Those videos are pretty awesome and the music is really sweet.

The City Riders one is totally badass.  Sent chills down my spine, sick beat.

Ok, they were pretty sweet. About time some electronic artists acknowledged how sick the grimey ass sound of the Mega Drive/Genesis was.

Danger is an amazing talent; promo materials for his earlier work are also all in a 16-bit style.  Watch videos of his live performances to see the different graphics he has for his backdrops.

Pretty good.  My favorite Danger song is 11H30 from 9/14  2007.

I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but that guy makes some pretty cool music.

Also, that Myspace page was horrendous, and the exact reason why I don't use that site.
