The Last Guardian Officially "On Hiatus" UPDATE: Or Not

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me a whole lot.

I know that this is probably more internal issues than polish stuff. So I want them to just work hard on creating a quality product even if it takes a while or doesn't end up being this. I still believe in you team ICO.

remember when Ico was a PS1 game..... and came out 8 months after the PS2's release at a reasonable time period.

Glad Shu stepped up to clarify. Andy McNamara tweeted, yesterday: "Ran into Sony after the conference. The Last Guardian still "on track." Just had to check and I thought I would share."

I imagine Last Guardian is getting a revamp for PS4 and it wasn't at a stage where they wanted to show it. I mean considering how delayed this game has been they probably don't want to show it again till its close to the finish line.

It's on a zero publicity hiatus. It's still in development. It's just being retooled.

Well, after such a long time, I sorta figured this out to be the case. I look forward to hearing how in 6 months time it will be "rebooted" and then in 1 year's time "moved to a different studio" and then in 2 years time finally allowed to die.

Look, I don't want this game to die. It has promise. I have nothing against Team ICO. But this game needs to be put out of its misery. It is clearly not going to go anywhere. Take it out behind the shed and do the merciful thing.

It sounds like they are overhauling and expanding upon it as much as it could be for Ueda and Team ICO's vision for the game on the PS4. It obviously is not in a state they are super proud with showing yet, and that's fine. I'd rather it be a full-fledged PS4 game anyway.

Welp, it's as good as cancelled in my book now. I was so, so excited about it too. For a while.

Actually he's not wearing a helmet with horns, he was born with them. That's why he was imprisoned.

A touch up for Ps4 would be great for the Last Guardian! Can't wait! Would be awesome if they manage to get it out for the day one release of the Ps4.

Which just goes to show, it's one thing to draw a luck dragon prancing around in CG, and quite another to make a follow-up game worthy of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Never trust a game preview where the gameplay is unclear or non existent.

I want it on PS4. Team Ico has done nothing but impress us in the past. They need the new hardware to properly blow our minds.

I think they are all too aware of their own problem. Either the creature buys it or the kid does. There is probably a conflict between honesty and possibility going on with this.. Getting a Last Guardian like that isn't common or easy..I'd figure out a way to keep it alive..Especially since that was it's assigned job also. A bit of gratitude, so to speak.
