Turns Out Metal Gear Solid 5 Talk Was a False Alarm

Well they tricked a few people into buying their magazine. I have the world exclusive on a new Bionic Commando for 360 on my facebook page by the way. In a few weeks I will say the exclusive is that I have no idea but doubt it.

If you read between the lines, he's clearly talking about adding trophy support for MGS4.

I'm the only person here who knows what's going on.

hmmm I think you're the only one who thought that way. There where lots of articles asking Kojima about this and he clearly stated that he does NOT have any plans to make MGS5 but "never say never".

The only good MGS games are the odd numbered ones.

The only Metal Gear Solid I've ever played is MGS4. I don't know why, but I loved the fuck out of that game. So much so that when my entire collection of everything gaming related was stolen in a home invasion, I bought three copies of the game to replace the one I lost. Then I bought the MGS collection for PS2 (which I haven't gotten around to playing, yet) and then just last week, bought the same collection (HD) for the PS3 and can't wait to get to it. I would absolutely play a MGS5.

I'm no journalist major, but I took English classes, and the ethical approach was instilled in me. I cannot imagine being in their position and thinking, "This is what I wrote, and I'm proud of what I'm doing." Are "the clicks" worth your credibility and reputation?

Don't be fooled MGS5 is happening for 2015 and has been in early development for almost 2 months now with Hideo Kojima as the lead director.

Six months later, MGS5 is announced at E3 2012.

This is somewhat of a relief, but it's hard to believe that Kojima would be allowed to work on anything non-metal gear related. Too many Japanese companies have dropped their smaller franchises entirely for the big hitters, there's no way marketing would green light a brand new Zone of the Enders or Suikoden on consoles again, not with the cost involved at such high risk. Metal Gear is still a pure cash cow to be milked.

It's quite unfortunate. Kojima is too brilliant and crazy to be left to one franchise alone.

I'm glad, because MGS5 could only tarnish the series.

Now hassle Konami UK about the MGS HD collection being quietly delayed until February. There's been no kind of acknowledgement about it from them and I'm sure a lot of people were also looking forward to picking it up a few weeks back.

Current evidence would point to yes.

Not only would they publish misleading titles, they would also phrase it to be as inflammatory as possible.

For an example, you would only need to look at Destructoid's Jim Sterling. You can include some of Kotaku's "editorial pieces" as well.

This is why videogame magazines should cease to exist. Seriously, these guys are whoring themselves out more than some of the shittiest videogame sites and blogs on the planet. They will even spread lies to gain a few readers.

I hope print magazines and their paid for "exclusive title stories" go to hell as fast as possible.

The only reason you got OPM back in the day were the demos on the cover disk. That reason is gone now, so stop buying this shit.

The initial thought of MGS5 didn't excite but props for pointing out the weak "journalism" by the magazine.
