I'm a fan of both Batman and Monolith, and I think that's stupid.

From hardcore, scary as fuck FPS`s to dumbed down sequels  and now this.

@528seven: Its a first-person competitive multiplayer batman game, no where in there do i see the word "shooter". Just because somethings in first person doesnt make it a FPS, im sure this will use some kind of interesting mechanic that makes it stand out from the usual first-person games.

If anyone is remotely interested in this bit of trivia, the premise of the game seems to be based on a recent story arc that run on Detective Comics a couple months ago. It was also called " Impostors" and it dealt with the machinations of a Joker-toxin-survivor that was left with a Joker-like face forever.  He "juiced up" civilians with his own version of the Joker's toxin, some other civilians dressed up as Batman to retaliate.

I don't want to spoil the ending of the arc (because it seems it could be that of the game), but it was a very solid read. There were some quirky and macabre twists thrown along the ride that made it quite interesting, above the usual "civilian trying to imitate good/bad guy".

This really sounds exactly like the recent Imposters arc from Detective Comics (issues 867-870). 

All I want to know is when this comes out so I can BUY AT LAUNCH.

As much as I want to hate on this preposterous use of the Batman franchise, it will probably be a pretty cool game. Also, dibs on Green Lantern Batman.

Despite how stupid this concept is, I'm interested.

It could be kind of like the multiplayer mode in the second Splinter Cell game where one side it was the bad guys and to them, the game was a first person shooter, and to the good guys, they were Splinter Cell spys and it was a 3rd person stealth game    

This game seems like it could actually be pretty cool, from what I played of it. Neat implementation of gadgets. I'll write something proper up once I'm not, like, mid-event.

(Also the character customization will probably let you create something resembling a Russian Martian Batman, so... automatically A-OK in my book.)

Monolith is behind it. I have faith it will be pretty good. Amusing at the very least. Would like some NOLF action though.

Odd little title considering they have a "Batman" team with guns. I think doing a cops vs. robbers thing could have been interesting with the Gotham City PD. We always talked about how in the multiplayer in Splinter Cell was very "Batman" like. Would be interesting if they go that route?
