Apparently you will be able to tune each vehicle in BFBC2.

" For the first time in Battlefield history we’re adding customization to the Battlefield Vehicle Combat. In Bad Company 2 players can earn customizable vehicle upgrades that let them tune a vehicle towards their own play style. Vehicle Specializations allow players chose between Enhanced Armor, an Upgraded Weapon package, Smoke Grenades to hide, an Electronic Warfare package to locate nearby enemies, or an Optics Upgrade to zoom in on targets. These upgrades can give a vulnerable tanker the means to escape, defeat, or outlive his opponents. Finding the right Vehicle Specialization to fit each play style is crucial to success in Vehicle Combat."

Wait, so how would this work? Will the upgrades install everytime you get into a vehicle? Will you have your own vehicle? I'm confused

Ah, so there will be some bigger focus on vehicles, eh?

Where's the line for the newly uninterested?  >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This way?  Gotcha.

While Battlefield is all about big maps and vehicles are a major part as well, it pisses me off when people forget to work on the ON-FOOT portion a bit more.  What makes it all EVEN BETTER...is that they are now providing THE INDIVIDUAL VEHICLE with the ability to seek out enemies.

Yay for tank whores, boo for me.

My very educated guess... from playing the game myself five times at PAX. Is that along with weapon selection, you can select two different perks, a soldier perk and a vehicle perk.

You see, you first select a kit, either Assault, Medic, Recon, or Engineer. Each kit selection looked like this (You would scroll right and select different items for eat slot).

Assault - Assault Rifle Type - Sidearm Type - Grenade Launcher Type - Soldier Perk - Vehicle Perk
Engineer - Shotgun/SMG Type - Sidearm Type - Rocket Type - Soldier Perk - Vehicle Perk
Recon - Sniper Rifle Type - Sidearm Type -  ????* - Soldier Perk - Vehicle Perk
Medic - Machine Gun Type - Sidearm Type - Just Paddles - Soldier Perk - Vehicle Perk

     * - I'm not sure what the recon had, maybe it was a choice between C4 and Airstrikes?

Assault's Gadgets: Ammo packs, grenade launcher
Engineer's Gadgets: Repair tool, RPG or Mines
Recon's Gadgets: Motion Sensor, C4 or Airstrike
    Medic' Gadgets: Health Pack, Paddles
(Grenades and pistols for all kits. LB threw grenades, RB switched Main/Side weapons. Left and right on D-pad selected gadgets.)

I heard the producer say personally that he likes "armor piercing bullets and larger clips" - but I'm sure there will be stuff like more reserve ammo, less recoil, etc.

For vehicles, they would have the perks as mention above, and they would just work that way when you got into them.

Err, usually it's a combination of the two, a lot of the time vehicles are just transport, where you get to a base/town and jump out and fight on foot. You rarely see more than two tanks in one place.

Sounds nice, it adds a little more freshness to using vehicles in multiplayer I suppose.

I'm really liking the fact that they're bringing back customization options from BF2142. Except this time it's not only for your kit.

I hope EMP grenades/mines for disabling without destroying vehicles are coming back. How relaxed are they getting with keeping gadgets realistically modern?
